I think the adapter looks fine to be honest . Dont think it's worth spending extra just for a direct cable from the psu

Has anyone used the Corsair 12-pin adapter yet ? They're going for £20 and may get one next week.

It’s obviously done to save space on the PCB. Not only the connector is much smaller than 2 8pin connectors but it’s also mounted vertically.

Which is all well and good, but now there are half wired 12pin connectors cables in circulation, which will not work with the cards that require all 12 pins wired.

I took the back plate of mine and tested the pins as I made my own connector, all 6 of the ground pins are connect to the circuit but only 3 of the 6 positive pins are connected.

Installed my 12-pin corsair cable today. Works well.
