30xx Series Founders Edition

Fair point but in six months time the 3090FE may be a bargain if prices and availability carry on as they are going.

It won't be called a 3090 by that point, they will call it a 3080Ti :p a repackaged 3090 chips with less VRAM that will be the one coming in at a "bargain" in comparison.

Ah, I should have said I'm playing a proper racing Sim... iRacing ;)

My 1080Ti ran iRacing well enough that I wouldn't have bothered with an upgrade if that was my primary sim. iRacing isn't the prettiest sim, but it's one of the better-optimized sims out there. (if not the best)

iRacing's graphics look really good for the relatively low amount of PC horsepower it takes to run it.

I need to ditch this ancient win 8 install lol, ill be setting up win 10 on a spare ssd dual booting over weekend, moving office etc, over to it, when is ready enough, an image backup, migrate to m.2 boot, then once win10 is done on that the 3080 is going in.

I got the Corsair 12pin today for my AX1600i

I was thinking about getting the corsair cable but my RM1000i has what I think are capacitors integrated in the original cables. They are a PITA to work with, but I'm guessing they are helping with ripple or something.

The Corsair adapter cable doesn't seem to have anything but cables and connectors.

oh really? not come across that before.

Not a great picture, but the longest section of heat shrink (in the middle) is rigid and doesn't bend. (PITA in tight situations)

Smaller pic, but better view:

wild. yeah capacitors generally work better the closer they are to the target. can't imagine it makes much difference though. I guess it might make edgy overclocks slightly more stable.
