The 3070 is a damn fine card though, only the 8gb vram hurts it’s longevity imho.
Nah it's a solid 1440p card for 3+ years even with 8GB imo

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

You will get the outliers ofc but generally speaking it'll be fine, just like 6c/12t cpu's will. Devs tend to move verrrrrrry slowly when expanding things like cpu core counts and ram usage (guess they want to be as inclusive as poss to get a wider audience able to play their games).
According to TPU's averages it's 23% at 1440p, but 31% at 4K. The faster memory really shines at 4K, but I think the 3070 makes sense for most people at 1440p (unless you can get a 3080 FE).FE vs FE the 3080 is roughly 25% ahead generally.

I was thinking about getting the corsair cable but my RM1000i has what I think are capacitors integrated in the original cables. They are a PITA to work with, but I'm guessing they are helping with ripple or something.
The Corsair adapter cable doesn't seem to have anything but cables and connectors.

This is very true. What developer in their right mind makes a game that doesn't run on the hardware that gamers have. You will get the outliers ofc but generally speaking it'll be fine, just like 6c/12t cpu's will. It's a good card at FE RRP of £469, not at £700+.
Likewise, the 3080 is a good card at £649, not at £900+
You’ve already got my address right?I really like the card, solid and quiet. Had to borrow some parts from a friend to try it out but compared to the previous generation it's a great card for £650.
Given my situation though I'll most likely sell it, and see what the situation with availability is towards the end of the year.

That is why I said right mind.Crytek in 2007?
All the instructions on how to set up alerts is further back in this post (about 50 pages back or so)... I set it up this Tuesday night and got the alert on Wednesday... In the cart and now in the PC today!
Daft question - How do you register a 30XX FE card?
I eventually found this page, but it only has a link to PNY support form at the bottom
