30xx Series Founders Edition

You did well there, I've had my alerts on since early December and still not managed to bag one.

Are you waiting for a 3080 or 3090, I wanted the 3090FE? The 3090's were is stock for around 2 hours on Wednesday, but the 3080's went in about 10/15 seconds.

I wonder how many ga104 chips (the GPU chip used in the desktop rtx 3070) are going into laptops? anyone know what percentage of mid-high end GPUs went into Nvidia laptops in previous generations?

Undervolted mine tonight and even more impressed, 1800@850

Temp difference and the perf. difference

wack on +500 on the memory too some people have managed +1000. First time on a card I've been able to overclock memory by so much without it sneezing.

Currently on 1905@825mv at the moment stable.

EDIT:

Also, I don't think a 3080 is that much better than a 2080ti???

its miles faster. The 3060ti I had when overclocked nearly matched my 2080ti in TimeSpy ! (GPU score a bit under by a 1000)

3080 GPU Score 18118

Oh nice

Might try later this week but haven't found any real need for more perf. this thing is a beast already :p

Main thing, which I've been enjoying the most is just how quiet my whole system is now, played around with all the fan curves and my PC is hardly any louder during gaming than when at idle now and temps all round are just better too.

Its not really about performance its undervolting to reduce temps/Watts any performance improvement is a kind of side effect/benefit. At stock its a power hungry card compared to the 3060ti. You notice the difference going from 3060ti FE > 3070 AIB > 3080 FE

I'd love an FE, but there's no way to buy them in Ireland now from what I can see.

They've apparently suspended all EU shipping for now. Likely because they weren't registered for VAT in those countries; since they only charged UK VAT.

Hopefully they'll get that sorted soon, so we can order at Irish VAT, and not have to pay import VAT and handling fees.

Yup, most definitely! Card was already pretty quiet and good temps on the whole considering fan speed but with that undervolt of mine, card using about 100w less, runs cooler and fan speeds dropped by about 10-15% during load.

Seems like most people are able to hit 1900@850 or there abouts with ease too.

I've seen that you got the same case as me, how are you finding temps and noise on the whole?

And what's your case fan setup like?

I'm really not seeing the need to undervolt, it's not a hot or loud card IMO. Though I have come from a 1080Ti FE and didn't see that as offensively loud either with a custom fan curve.

I undervolted mine. Fan speeds and temps dropped considerably. The frequency is more stable and power consumption is 70-100w less than stock. There are no downsides.

I'll have a play about. I don't seem to have much issue with consistency of frequency at the moment though, current clocks it sits 1925 to over 2000. Probably game dependant though.

Any news on degradation/damage on undervolting yet?

Not sure that's a thing. If anything, less voltage and heat is better for the cards longevity?

I can't remember the exact settings, but mine runs at 1950MHz @ ~870mv. Fans never go above 1300rpm.

I've also found and additional fan blowing on the middle of the cooler helps massively with temps.
