never since the "RRP" that Nvidia published aren't achievable by the manufacturers. This has been covered numerous times in this thread. The manufacturers, under pressure from Nvidia, subsidised a limited number of cards to allow us to hit the MSRP. These oversold in seconds and our website couldn't react quickly enough, leaving us in a hole of losing money to supply cards that we're struggling to get hold of. Now, component and shipping price increases are driving even the cards that we sold above MSRP into a loss..

Any wonder that we're frustrated?

In terms of availability it's easily the worst launch nvidia have had.

From what Gibbo has said, £650 3080's were never realistic msrp's anyway so that ship may have sailed, at least for some brands. Not sure how this could happen really? Say this card hadn't sold well and there was over-supply (I know, crazy!) ... would the board partners still have increased msrp's. Doubt it.

Seems that all the DPD troubles are close to being sorted out, I'd say that EU customers can make fresh purchases from UK tech websites fairly soon too. There's been multiple people say this, or something to that effect. not to be a busy body but what I'd like to know is:
Did you order two cards, one from here, and one from the competition on the same day, or did you try it at a later date? Just wondering as every other decent supplier in other EU countries have shut up shop long ago, long before OCUK did. Possibly the reason for the back order in the 1000s here.
Did you pay over the top for the card? MRSP set by Nvidia is not realistic according to the info the OCUK lads have supplied, which sounds fair tbh. However €1000+ is an awful price as well, the 2080ti was awfully priced. the 3080 is a better card, but it should cause in the 2080ti territory. how much did you spend on the card?

just wondering if there hope elsewhere. I'm at 10xx in the TUF non OC queue, and a lot of places don't stock the ASUS cards. Obviously no mention of who you go it from, that's against the rules here. just some details. if there is a back door, I wouldn't mind knowing. could free up a spot here for folks.

I would expect a larger throughput of product from Nvidia all the way down to the consumer would have drastically changed things. What we're seeing now is the poor practices in the industry being highlighted through extraordinary circumstances. Businesses that didn't take their market for granted or have adapted to the situation more quickly are likely under much less pressure than others at the moment.

Well that sucks, I guess everyone loses out here.

Haven't really been monitoring it that closely, but thought the RRP was nonsense from the start, they were too cheap compared to the 20 series.

I still have my 2080Ti so I'm in no rush to upgrade, just glad I didn't panic sell in the hope of buying 30 series or I would probably still be waiting.
