30xx Series Founders Edition

I think VR is probably the one of the few gaming use cases for the 3090 over any other card... that little extra perf can be the difference between a smooth and workable experience and an uncomfortable blurry and/or juddery one.

Still stupid money though!

Yeah, even a small percentage performance increase can make the difference between reprojection and smooth 90fps. This is far more important than 2D games as juddery framerates in VR can make you physically sick. And of course on the Index I can also go to 120hz or 144hz for less demanding games. Elite Dangerous in particular runs incredibly well.

The cooler design is so good that not only are GPU temps cooler than my 1080ti, but the CPU has dropped ten degrees too.

But it IS a stupid price. I'd have been happy with a 3080 (apart from niggling worries about VRAM) if they'd been readily available.

Yes, the cooler on the 3090 FE is amazing and probably the best you can buy. It's also the cheapest 3090 as far as I'm aware, relatively speaking of course.

Ordered a replacement power lead direct from Corsair to go with my 3090, ordered yesterday afternoon, arrived today by DHL from Amsterdam.

Shipped 14:58 yesterday and delivered 13:12 today, cant knock that service :D

The FE 3090 just showed as having stock on Nvidias site. Unfortunately when you go to the link of the retailer they’re out of stock, false alarm. It seems like a new link, maybe just out of date.

They're all showing as in stock currently but no links working.

Interesting that the 3080fe is linking to the same url as the last drop, so looks like the randomized link wasn't updated.

No talk about it on discord either so must be a screwup somewhere.

I was told last week that the link usually stays the same. Someone actually gave me a link which auto adds to basket when you click it too.

Strange in previous drops it seems to last til they sell out then goes inactive. Not sure whats going on at their store at the minute. Either they are in stock and someone forgot to update the link, or someone at nvidia is taking the **** :p

I'm not sure, The link was posted in a Discord group about an hour after I bought my card so I'm unsure how well it works.

Just poked about the site, depending on the link you use they show as either in stock or out of stock, so just looks like an error on the site.

I'm not showing anything in stock (NV site, old retailer links I have, eg. two different 3080 links)?

Either the web guy is getting sloppy or overloaded (or off work), or they're preparing for having lots of stock. I doubt it's the latter but hey ...

.. ah OK, just got a Buy button on the NV site taking me to an old dead link, see what you guys mean now (didn't happen until now).

yep, either just a routine web maintenance update, or they're getting ready (possibly) to selling direct? or (argh!) FE discontinued??
