@ScottiBA bit of a follow up on this situation since I've had a long discussion with the MD about it. LOOOOONG story short DPD don't have the systems in place to carry forward the VAT that you've paid, this is what caused the issue. We still don't have a solution which will work for all affected customers. Those customers whose order shipped but then got returned are stuck in a whirlpool of VAT regulations since the goods have already been invoiced, we aren't legally able to refund the VAT without cancelling the order completely and it's looking like no courier will handle the goods VAT paid. We are still trying to find a workable solution, please be patient.
This might be me being stupid but for these orders could you get a system admin to manage invoices and switch the ids over to a new data entry? Then refund the order and re raise the order? To this new data entry reserving place in the queue and sorting out the vat repayment and assigning a coupon to the order to match the previous price???
