Hey, you advertise, you sell - if you have issues with your contractors/supply chain don't blame customers that they are expecting you to keep the promise you made. Go to court with suppliers, if you feel like they are guilty here. Blaming your customers that they read your advertisement? WTF, I would say. This doesn't feel petty, it IS petty.Ultimately, it's an Nvidia promotion, Nvidia imposed terms & conditions and an Nvidia decision, so blaming us feels petty. I very much doubt that this will have any impact on your decision about where to shop in the future, but I did feel it worth response.
These people clearly have never worked in a call centreNo ball grabbing going on at all. As soon as we knew what the situation was following the launch we contacted every affected customer. We provided a simple online form which enabled then to cancel their order and get a full refund easily and quickly, and for those who wish to wait we provide regular updates.
There's nothing really that anybody can do about phone wait times, every company with more than a handful of customers is in the same boat at the moment, from online retailers to multi-national utility companies. It's not like the guys sit there with their feet up and wait until you've been on hold for twenty minutes before picking up the call.
A lot more people than usual are sat at home looking for things to do and online shopping is often a first port of call for the bored. You are one of thousands of customers attempting to obtain information which is really hard to come by, and it's only human nature, when you've been asked pretty much the same question for the hundredth time today and the five thousandth time since September, that the enthusiasm level is at rock bottom. If you speak to any customer service representative at the moment please give them a break, try to be polite, no matter how angry you may be. It's not their fault.
We'd genuinely love to be in the situation where we can list products for sale normally, have stock or at the very least, accurate ETAs, but reality is a bitch at times and we are firmly tied to the real world and all of the crap that comes along with it.

You are absolutely right but "tough titties" is something what we try our upmost to avoid. As I said, we went to war with Nvidia to get them to issue us a load more codes but we couldn't just issue them to everybody who had ordered because;I’m pretty sure T&C’s would have been listed on the site explaining pretty much everything ScottiB has been saying so....... tough titties. We’ve all missed out and still waiting. Listening to self entitled winers is getting tiresome now.
You are absolutely right but "tough titties" is something what we try our upmost to avoid. As I said, we went to war with Nvidia to get them to issue us a load more codes but we couldn't just issue them to everybody who had ordered because;
a) there still wasn't enough codes to do that, and,
b) the code is useless without the card and most customers weren't going to get the card before the redemption period ended.
It might not be entirely Nvidia's fault either since they have contracts with the game publisher which will certainly state a final redemption date. Ultimately, we run these promotions for the benefit of our customer base but we are not responsible if they end prematurely. Offer available whilst stocks last. Terms & Conditions apply. A phrase which is drilled into our brain by Rob Brydon and the like on a daily basis in this modern world.
Just missed out on buying RTX 3080 founders edition. UK stock just dropped but only had access to an old mobile phone so could not check out fast enough
