*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I must've just sneaked into the TUF list at 55 (my GF got hers at 22). it was a rough couple of months where there was little/no communication, but i'm not sure I could've got it sooner if i ordered elsewhere. call me a mug but i feel like OCUK did everything in their power to get me my card (including honouring the booked in order of TUFs even when 70 TUF OCs turned up) and probably learned a few lessons from this launch the hard way.

Could anyone tell me how many people roughly are waiting for the gigabyte 3080 gaming oc? I ordered a system and upgraded to that choice just recently and I’m just trying figure out if I’ve been put in a queue or at least just try to figure out if I’m gonna be waiting months and months and months for it? Any advice on this will be greatly appreciated, cheers :)

have you ordered a whole gaming system, or just the GPU? Gaming systems are separate stock and queue, so wouldn’t help asking here. You are better off sending a webnote or calling for an update.

It's a bit harsh blanking your GF because she got her gfx card before you! :p

Maybe she's got a new boyfriend on the side and has no time for him anymore (Who obviously only want's her for one thing) Her Graphics card :D

Cheers buddy appreciate that I didn’t realise it was separate stock for these :) I’ll do that

oh yeah it is a whole system, I bought the katana but added a i9 10900k and the 3080 with 32gb Kingston 3600 ram few other tweaks to it, quite excited for it but now realising I might be waiting quite a while to get it :/ I have sent web note but they don’t seem to know, I’m guessing they will prioritise the separate orders first won’t they?

Nice spec, that shall keep you gaming for many years. When did you order your system? Gibbo posted on 15th Jan that there was 177 Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC on back orders. However I beleive SI cards are not part of those back orders mentioned, and you will most likely get your system before most of us get our cards (don't quote me on that). As of last week I was 90th in queue for my card, but not expecting it to have gone down that much in a week.

Cheers! yeah hopefully it will be good for fair few years!

fingers crossed then, it did say everything was in stock when I was confirming the order but obviously not :/ it’s only been couple weeks, so probably have to wait a fair while to get it. Someone did tell me that systems are getting to people quicker than cards at the moment but in this current situation I just assume it’s gonna be a long while till I get it :/

Excellent post, and excellent advice, nice to see someone with manners and consideration of others for a change
Thank you!
I juts see no reason to be angry all the time. If I worked for OCUK I wouldn't exactly be jumping at the chance to help someone giving me abuse on the forums and then phone over something out of my control. So I just imagine how I'd feel.

It's a difficult time. I don't blame any company at the moment. They can only ship what they have, and if they aren't sent very much, well, there's going to be massive delays. Blame the scalpers and lack of production, if anything. However, I do also see the side of the customer. They're not taking out their frustrations on the staff really, they're just really annoyed with how long this is taking, and no, I don't blame them at all. If I was waiting nearly 5 months later for a GPU that I ordered on release day, I'd be preety p****d too.

Anyone who claimed Bundle code COD: Cold War, how quick is the customer service replying? I left webnote 4 or 5 days ago still didn't get a reply, and the deadline on 11th Feb is getting closer, I know they busy so don't want to disturb them with 100 emails, dunno what to do, should I wait or text one more time?

I still stand by my opinion that they need to delay the next gen a little after this fiasco. The fact we're even starting to get 4000/7000 series rumours already is frankly an insult. Considering a large portion don't even have this gen yet. Due to demand, they'll still be able to clean up on this gen for a while to come, and I think it would be really bad if they released a new gen this year considering these massive delays. The value to consumers would be awful. Paying £700 for a GPU (if you're lucky) only to have it be surpassed in a matter of months.

If they aim to release a new gen this year, then frankly, I would be very tempted to just wait for that and hope the stock situation would be better.

As frustrating as it would be if a new genreation of cards are released before the demand for the current generation has even been satisfied, Nvidia witholding their latest tech just to artificially preserve the value of their last lineup of cards doesn't sound like a pro-consumer decicision at all to me. We would gain nothing tangible from that.

It'll be super interesting to see what Nvidia do for the next gen. If global shortages of electronics persist they will have to approach the release very differently to the 30 series. Then there's the pressure of AMD breathing down their necks and Intel dipping their toe in the market. Gives them a lot to consider at least.
