The Brexit Ireland issue seems to be Vat related? Does this issue still delay preorders made by Ireland business customers who didn't pay vat when ordering anyway?
 
It's time to vent.
I'm currently 535 in queue for the ASUS TUF OC 3080. I pre-ordered on the 6th of November.
On the 22nd of November I found they were in stock on a competitors website so I made the order.

However, it is months after this and I still don't have a graphics card.
On top of this, the competitor keeps promising me delivery dates which never happen.

Who ever's fault it is for the terribly low supply of 3080s, I will go to their house and flip a desk.

You could beat them with spatulas instead- plenty of choice there.

Yeah, it's tough. I ordered a few hours after launch (17th of Sept) and I've not received my Strix. The influx of Strix has been low, I've moved 9 places in a month. 60ish the week before that though so not terrible.

With Chinese New Year this week coming I'm not expecting any movement until the end of Feb at the earliest. Can hope though.

As far as I'm concerned I'm pinning this on Nvidia, I should be voting with my feet, but like a lot of others sticking it as we got an ok deal on the day and can't afford to do anything else.

If I cancel now I'm unlikely to get a card before the autumn. And at an inflated price.
 
I think even when I do get my card, 160 something to go, I'm going to be permanently ****** off with both AMD and Nvidia for years to come. I upgrade every 3-4 year or so... normally a big upgrade too 3k+ The one thing I was looking forward to in the hardest year of my life is ******. I had a baby, moved house, started a business a few months before covid and have lived in a state of constant depression and near as damn it alcoholism since. People's hobbies arn't trivial things, the things we do to distract ourselves from life keep us sane. This whole mess has been the cherry on top of a lot of other problems... when people just want a little financial security, to see families to support each other. Every possible coping mechanism that we have has been taken away from us.

So when I see a post about people whinging because they can't upgrade there pc or buy this that or the other, I feel you. You have a right to be angry. You're just looking for a little peace is a ****** world.

I've emailed back twice with a couple of ones Id rather swap for but they're slightly more pricey, Im happy to pay the differenc eif need be though, the most recent email Ive basically said which one I want instead and asked if that would be alright- I was wondering if you guys are gonna see/respond to those tonight or is it gonna be tomorrow now? No rush but if I might get a response tonight I'll keep my emails open on the phone while Im gaming so I dont miss it and can get my build sorted, built, and out of you guys way ASAP.

Also low key worried other parts might go out of stock before this is sorted so Im trying to sort it ASAP for me and for you guys too ^^

It'll get picked up by the CS team, whether or not we can do what you want may depend on the payment method on the order. Some methods don't allow price changes. I'm not an expert on what works for what method so it's best to wait for their response.
 
Another retailer is now consistently releasing small numbers of stock at 03:30 in the ******* morning... It's as if they don't give a **** and are happy to sell to the bots... outrageous when they have brick a mortar shops they could sell to real people from.

Ebay stats... 14k 3080 shifted through them since Sept.

There isn't one aspect of this ******** that is redeemable.

Yeah, it's really not a great situation. All we can do is sit and wait.
Hopefully, things will pick up before we know it.

Yeah, I saw that on the website that informs people about stock.
It's crazy.
I'm currently waiting for stock from that retailer. I've had a TUF OC ordered since November.
I've been on the phone with them countless times. Their system is terrible.

You’re not the only one. My alcohol consumption is keeping a vineyard open.
Cycling and playing a digital piano very loudly and very badly are also helping.
Actually being able to run MS Flight Sim would help a bit more.
 
Just think about it, the amount saved by not buying any alcohol can now go towards paying the new GPU price premiums (over the original MSRP's)! :rolleyes:

A tad bit of an side note, but I signed up for one of them discord part alerts groups. Signed up to look for 3080s, and even 3090s if I was stupid enough at the time of seeing a "deal". Even when the cards come in on sites, they are gone instantly. literally "added" to basket a 3090 earlier for about €300 more than MRSP, and was going to cave, but it wouldn't add as the bots were buying it out before I could get there. and i clicked the link as soon as it was added ( happened to be looking) Its a pan European issue. Nearly better to wait and not be ripped off, then "pull the trigger". You can see the inflation going around as well. 3080s are nearly the current MRSP price of 6900XTs, and 6900XTs are the former price of 2080Ti's. even if you can fine any one of them, you're getting screwed. Just a side note I suppose to say " stay the course, we be fine jack". not much comfort to most though...

Got to say, the non OC supplies have been abysmal compared to the OC, greedy Nvidia and Asus, no matter now, what's happened has happened, cant do anything but wait now, hope you get yours sooner, you never know after Chinese New year things may improve

For everyone worrying about there not being any eagles on this shipment, this shipment (as far as I am aware) has been stuck in customs for a few weeks, before they raised the prices, this gigabyte shipment shouldn’t be compared to anything now as it was sent before they changed prices, and if you have a look at the asus shipments since price increase, a lot more tufs have been sent out, I imagine the rest to follow suit after cny. I am currently 346 for eagle now, ordered 13 hours after launch, I have all of my watercooling tubes and blocks ready to go, yet I am not crying on about missing card. Everyone just has to be patient, and stop getting stressed for no reason. It is not good for your health.
