*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

;) the ps5 is also in a right messy situation.

Sony now claims they are selling the ps5 at a loss and will use it as opportunity to try and raise prices of the overpriced machine. They take us for mugs.

As far as I'm aware, consoles have historically been sold at a loss, with games recouping that loss until a profit emerges after so many game purchases. I don't think that business model has changed.

Well knowing how businesses operate , I will never believe that nonsense. This company has been making consoles and electronics for decades. By now they would have perfected making a console for £200 that will sell for £350 or £400.

Just even look here, rtx 3080 should cost £650 tbh and yet it's selling for £1500 on ebay.

Nvidia are already making a huge profit at £650. The card probably really costs £300

How much is one of those new ASIC rigs? I though a major difference is that ASIC chips can be reprogrammed and are more flexible, and we know from recent years that a new race will come up again in the near future; so maybe not a huge risk, but I assume miners are very short sighted wrt business plan.
€19,000

You think sony are getting 1tb of high endurance vnand, zen2 8 core, rdna2, 16gig gddr6, bluray all manufactured for £200?

It's not entirely clear yet, but it seems Irish customs aren't happy with the paperwork provided by DPD, who are looking for new paperwork from OC. OC were lead to believe there would not be any problems because they're registered for Irish VAT, but that apparently is not the case. It also seems like different courier companies have different requirements, so the issue might be partially exacerbated by DPD. To my knowledge it also has not yet been confirmed whether or not VAT is the only charge at Irish customs or if there are additional import fees. OC are still working on a solution but it's been mentioned that the most likely outcome is that Irish customers will have their VAT refunded by OC and then will have to cover the import charges themselves. This poses a particular problem for some customers (like myself) who didn't pay directly to OC (Amazon Pay for me), since partial refunds are not allowed. Either the full amount can be refunded or nothing. All we can do is wait and see what solution is offered.

Thanks for this; just hoping that a clearer picture emerges soon, if only to know the queue position again.

You say that but look at the 3060ti which was released just after the 3060
The 3080 is made from chips that will not make a 3090. The 3070s are made from chips that cannot make a 3080. The 3060Ti is made from chips that will not make a 3070. This makes a lot of sense as all quality of chips can be sold. The 3080TI will be made from chips that can make a 3080 which would be unfair to early adopters. NVidia have announced that they will not bring out another SKU until stocks stabilise in recognition of the current market. They did not say how long they will be holding off though.

Idiots like that should be thrown off the bay.
I've reported a few.

Believe me I have tried. :(. Reported dozens. Ebay don't care.

One claimed it was doing it to combat bots, which sort of makes sense. I’d hope no one would pay that much without reading the description first.

That what they all claim. It makes no sense what so ever imho. People use these bots to buy cards and resell for a profit. Paying twice MSRP does not make profit. Besides it would not take someone more than 5 minutes to rewrite the bot to filter out key phrases like "bot" or "robot" or "Humans do not bid" which would only leave human bidders.

The only people this fools are drunk people or people that are not so computer literate. Its a scam through and through imho.

Your a little off the 3090-3080 are from the same chip GA-102 the 3070 and 3060ti are from a different chip GA-104 and the 3060 is a different chip again the GA-106

PayPal guarantee is almost completely risk free. It's also bold to assume £1,500 is a lot of money to everyone.
I have a work colleague who would spend this on cheese in a month - covid closing our local cheesemonger has hit him pretty hard.

An indiscriminate bid bot only needs one diamond to be worth the effort, they're effortless to run.

I'll hold my breath until the next stupid text alert and see if a decent amount of Eagle are being sent .As per my last post which was aimed at overclockers staff And didnt get a responce .did you realy get a message on every date to show the amounts or was you just guessing as I've had what 7 total .I think I need a word with my son as I entered his number when placing my order...

the Irish customs has nothing to do with _my_ order, I ordered my card from a EU member country in September. The contract was made in September. The fact the item is delivered later (when this country left the EU) doesn't change my "buying" contract.
