Come on, man up, take it on the chin, feel a bit guilty and learn to be more careful in the future.

As already mentioned, several of us (me included) were given a talking to when younger for doing something similar. What we didn’t do was try to seek redemption on a forum.

The rule around lairy cars (standard or not) is to not drive them in a way that could be seen asanti-social or dangerous in front of a police officer. You were cocky or unobservant and got pulled for it. It might have been a warning to most but maybe your attitude told the officer you had no remorse or respect.

You have to be consciously trying to get all the drama from the exhaust, guess copper didn’t take a liking to that, probably factoring the time and place.

It would be interested to see the stretch of road in question and the time it happened for context.

I can't imagine comfort mode makes the throttle that bad for regular driving so in all honesty, do you drive the car in Sport plus (or whatever it was) for the throttle map or the exhaust farts? I honestly don't get the appeal of the forced sound. Even if I did surely that gets old on every shift anyway?

How responsive is the car speedo to really confirm you didn't hit > 50mph for a tenth of a second - it's integrated over a time period - no ?
... If it had been a traffic car radar, wouldn't that be much faster acting eg. to catch people who then brake

police are known to lie
e.g they will say they have x number of witnesses when in fact they dont and when challenged they then flap it.

You can't get fined for doing a hard acceleration within the speed limit. There is no law which limits how fast you can get to the speed limit.

But if you can hear it from 3 miles away OFC you are going to get stopped.

I got pulled over 20 odd years ago for this exact same thing, except my car was cool, a 16V Big Bumper Mark II Golf.

Policeman - "What on earth were you just doing?"
Me - "Er, honestly? Being a bit of a ****, sorry."

lol i had this when i was dating my first g/f she lived 30 miles away and it was my first car 3 saturday nights on the trot they pulled my trusty escort mk1 over same spot same copper... never drank but always around 12 ish midnight in the end i got fed up and asked him if he wanted to go out with me that much i would have to ditch the g/f first..... strange didnt stop me after that i even had choccky and flowers ready hehe

No proper AMD/M/RS car is gonna be quiet at 5000 revs.
