Nvidia Re-Size Bar/SAM support is live for some cards, more in March - 10% performance gains

The eurogamer 3060 review has some benchmarks with it enabled on a z490. Seems the benefits decrease as resolution increases. Be interesting to see what happens with the faster cards.

Damn.. Nvidia actually under quoted the performance- digital foundry got 17% extra performance in battlefield V with resize bar on

resize bar performance gain in BFV with rtx3060

1080p: 17% more fps
1440p: 15% more fps
4k: 7% more fps

Will be interesting to see how these numbers change on more powerful cards next month - the 6800xt gets 2% extra performance in the same game when SAM is turned on

EDIT , Sorry the % varies from game to game.

"We tested Battlefield 5 first, and this game surprised us. We saw a 17 per cent improvement from toggling ReBAR on at 1080p, bringing the game from 117 to 137fps. The game is still highly playable either way, but this is certainly a noticeable difference if you have a monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz or higher. The boost is muted slightly at 1440p, but it's still good for a healthy 15 per cent improvement. Even at 4K, an performance improvement of seven per cent is still quite significant, with the game running at 60fps for a greater proportion of the time."

bios updated and resize bar enabled on my z390.

Now where is the vbios update for my lil old 3090, need more frames dammit.

Updated the bios on my Gigabyte z390 pro and enabled above 4G decoding and resize bar enabled, just have to wait for a Bios update for my Zotac 3090 if one even arrives that is lol.

Where are you getting the 6800 XT results from, Hardware Unboxed?

If so it may not be a fair comparison as DF tested using DX12 and HUB tested using DX11.

Not sure what effect a different API has on SAM perf.

"Interestingly i saw a similar rise to framerates on AMD too in this title"
@ 15:20
But of course Grim5 will look for the worst example from AMD vs the best example from Nvidia. :D

Oh it's from TPU and iirc they were using Vulkun
It's a fair point we don't have a lot of testing on it, we don't know if there is variance between gpu, chipset, cpu and api - that's shell of a lot of combinations to test to find an answer.

Link cause I don't see anything or are you just repeating rumours from ransoms?

cant link the the forum its on here due to forum rules.

looks like its an exploit based on how the gpu first starts at mining full speed then halves the speed once its detected its mining. could be fake news though since its just from another forum post.
