This is same for me. I have a 4k monitor and completed AC:Valhalla where fps was always between 42>60. It was very smooth no tearing. I have no doubt that if I had a 3080 I would still had a great experience but can guarantee those low frames would have been in the 30s. I still am rather annoyed both AMD and nvidia keep claiming 4k gaming is here when they still need to optimise the drivers some more as I would hedge that both the 6800XT and the 3080 are borderline 4k cards in most titles and some tweaks will be needed to maintain a high fps.
Assassins Creed games usually all run like crap. The same as Crysis remastered. I never bought the AC Valhalla game because it runs like crap at 4k.
The 3080, 3090, 6800XT are all borderline 4k cards at max settings for some games like AC Valhalla etc. I agree that Nvidia and AMD keep claiming 4k gaming. The cards can do it .
It will be good to know if these cards can maintain playing games at 4k up until the next generation of GPUs.
I know the 3 series laptops can't even do 4k gaming at max settings even medium settings tbh. There is no 3090 mobile gpu either. So the non laptops are a better deal.
