30xx Series Founders Edition

I can't get any card yet, I am still on my gtx1080

Pretty much same here, I’m still on a evga 1080ti ftw3 card I just had a look at them on a auction site and can’t believe their going for more money now than I paid brand new 2/3 years ago ! Is this right ?

Lots of talk about problems with "that" retailer and scarce items lately. It seems they're quite good at taking orders which they don't have stock for, and then taking their time processing the refunds (weeks).

If you "just" missed out, it might be for the best.

Didn't realise it had hit that point. Just wanted to make clear that of the retailers being discussed, it isn't the FE one I'm referring to (it's the other).

Yeah I got a short suspension about it but as said yours isn't in relation to buying stock as it were just a warning to others. Sorry was being a bit over-cautious maybe.

Everyone is sure to love and admire you for trying to profit from the current card shortages.

I could lie and say that its for a friend, would that help you swallow your bitter disappointment in me?

I managed to get a 3060Ti when they were released back in December I think it was, I've tried every single 3080 drop since then and failed at every attempt, rules have since been changed so I now cant technically order a 3080 as I have a 3060Ti, but you still see all of the confirmed orders popping up on the bay etc shortly after the drops..

I've given up on getting a 3080, 3070 will do me fine until the 4 series in which the 3080 might be in stock :D

Similar situation for me. Got an FE from them but now I can't buy any other branded card at all. Order declined at every drop :( including this morning's mega drop.
Orders for other parts go through fine but not GPUs.
Hey man! I got two kids to feed!

Let's be honest here, a fair few on here probably had no intention of becoming a wannabe scalper initially, but when the whole gpu/cpu saga erupted and people got frustrated with scalpers who do this for a living, I'm certain many have decided to go with the 'if you can't beat thrn join them' ethos..

I can't really blame them if I'm being completely honest.. I don't think it's fair and certainly makes things worse, however it is easy money in the current state and people doing it will suggest that if they hadn't sniped a card then it would have likely gone to another scalper anyway.

I guess it's turned into a dog eat dog situation and people have decided to make the most of it.

This is just my opinion and I'm sometimes (most times in my wife's mind) wrong about things.

This guy has 5, beats you :D

It's so satisfying to know that there are other folks out there that get these references!

Same, fancied a 3090 Strix but wouldn't go through. Guess I can't blame them, they have to stop the multiple buyers somehow!

Their system must be working because it felt like all those cards were up for an eternity! I had enough time to get declined several times!

Reading the posts, I think it's also that people are trying to get hold of any card at first and then try again to go for the GPU they actually want so they have to flip the first card.

It's certainly better than doing absolutely nothing to stop bots like some others. One competitor has had restocks of cards pretty frequently, but they're sold out within two seconds of going live due to bots, even in the middle of the night. Sites for popular bots proudly list them as one of the sites that their bot works on. Regular customers have no chance and the scalpers get every single card they list (or very close to it). So that's a good portion of the UK's supply being funneled straight into the wrong hands from just one source.

Surely just putting a captcha with the 'add to cart' button would solve this bot issue (but obviously not the multiple buys)

I'd imagine that many retailers just aren't bothered who they're selling to. They get their cut either way. Hell, some are getting in on the scalping themselves. I know people complain about OcUK's pricing on here, but certain others have been far worse for cashing in on the current situation.
