Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
I can't get any card yet, I am still on my gtx1080
Delete that reference @McPhee it'll get you suspended. They're being VERY strict now.
Didn't realise it had hit that point. Just wanted to make clear that of the retailers being discussed, it isn't the FE one I'm referring to (it's the other).
Everyone is sure to love and admire you for trying to profit from the current card shortages.
I could lie and say that its for a friend, would that help you swallow your bitter disappointment in me?
I managed to get a 3060Ti when they were released back in December I think it was, I've tried every single 3080 drop since then and failed at every attempt, rules have since been changed so I now cant technically order a 3080 as I have a 3060Ti, but you still see all of the confirmed orders popping up on the bay etc shortly after the drops..
This guy has 5, beats you
Orders for other parts go through fine but not GPUs.

Same, fancied a 3090 Strix but wouldn't go through. Guess I can't blame them, they have to stop the multiple buyers somehow!
Let's be honest here, a fair few on here probably had no intention of becoming a wannabe scalper initially, but when the whole gpu/cpu saga erupted and people got frustrated with scalpers who do this for a living, I'm certain many have decided to go with the 'if you can't beat thrn join them' ethos..
I can't really blame them if I'm being completely honest.. I don't think it's fair and certainly makes things worse, however it is easy money in the current state and people doing it will suggest that if they hadn't sniped a card then it would have likely gone to another scalper anyway.
I guess it's turned into a dog eat dog situation and people have decided to make the most of it.
This is just my opinion and I'm sometimes (most times in my wife's mind) wrong about things.
It's certainly better than doing absolutely nothing to stop bots like some others. One competitor has had restocks of cards pretty frequently, but they're sold out within two seconds of going live due to bots, even in the middle of the night. Sites for popular bots proudly list them as one of the sites that their bot works on. Regular customers have no chance and the scalpers get every single card they list (or very close to it). So that's a good portion of the UK's supply being funneled straight into the wrong hands from just one source.Same, fancied a 3090 Strix but wouldn't go through. NO NO NO
I'd imagine that many retailers just aren't bothered who they're selling to. They get their cut either way. Hell, some are getting in on the scalping themselves. I know people complain about OcUK's pricing on here, but certain others have been far worse for cashing in on the current situation.Surely just putting a captcha with the 'add to cart' button would solve this bot issue (but obviously not the multiple buys)
