*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

one thing i don't understand is why has every 3080 had a few cards upgraded but Ventus 3080 has had none.
why couldn't they upgrade 5 ventus just so they can move the queue a little.
i have heard that they lose money when upgrading ,but it is cheaper to upgrade the ventus than some others. even if it did cost more, upgrading 5 ventus wouldn't lose too much.
if you think i am being selfish or something i just see that a one time upgrade of 5 ventus cards(roughly £1000 total) is not much compared to the £40M~ they get per year

I get what you mean, but Trio X was closer to 'surplus' Suprim. Nothings fair at the mo. :(

Well my wait is over, ASUS TUF non-oc 3080 arrived early this afternoon and is working like a charm, been a long 7 month wait. For reference I started off at 372 in queue having ordered at 17.15 on September the 17th, good luck to those just behind me in the queue!

I'm glad I bailed and picked up a 3090FE back in November because going by your position I'd still be way into the 300's

Would you take a 3070 instead as even they now cost more than the early msrp 3080s?.

According to the recent Nvidia investors call it looks like the vanilla RTX 3080 line is going EOL once the 3080Ti and 3070Ti lands (mid May sometime) which means refunds for those pre-orders once the AIB's confirm to OCUK. Hazzah!

Are OC able to give us an upgrade mechanism to be able to pay the difference for a ti card ?
What did your 3080 pre-order set you back £600/£700? AIB's will be charging an arm and leg for these things currently (try 2.5 to 3x above the 3080 MRSP) so unless your prepared to pay £1200 to £1500........The point is it's possible but not probable. Also consider trying to fulfill the pre-orders are losing OCUK money given what these cards cost currently, they will want to get rid of this liability as soon as possible.

My thinking was it’s going to be £1100-1200.

It would be nice to know, even if theirs no updates a message isn't to hard to put. We've paid a lot of money for these cards.
Yeah but if there’s no stock updates there’s no need to post an update saying ‘no updates’ just a waste of time. Plus Gibbo already said he’s not bothering posting the ‘no updates today’

You are right It is much better for OCUK to offer 3080Ti upgrades to those in the 3080 queues first. Buyer pays the delta.

Think I'd prefer a guaranteed opportunity to pay the delta over a straight refund. No idea how OCUK could deal with the logistics though - there's a lot of admin involved in policing the queues or you'll get complaints of unfairness because Bob has been waiting longer than Fred.

That does assume Nvidia are daft enough to drop a product they can sell every single one of though. If it was just bottom line they'd drop all the cheap cards and just keep the 3090 & 3080 (not the Ti as it cannibalises 3090 sales).
