Resident Evil 8 performance

They were 1440p since no one can play the game at 4k native res. Even 4k looks a lot better than what we see in games like Control or CP, thanks again for proving my point.

This game is a great GPU bench test. Not even Cyberpunk with RT works the GPU as hard as this game for me.

I have to run a core overclock lower in this game than any other I've tested so far with everything dialled up to max settings at 4K. Had to knock 30Mhz off my typical max GPU overclock to gain stability.

Nice. Got it installed and will be playing it today.

Do you think 10GB is going to be enough Matt? :p
Should be for now. Looks like 8GB hurts min FPS though judging by the 3060 and 3070 performance.

Looks like 8gb is the minimum vram required for 1080p/1440p and 10gb minimum for 4k (to get proper performance)

people with 6gb cards will be really crying

I did play around with Variable Rate Shading and it definitely improves performance. I did not notice any image quality change either between having it off vs the balanced mode so looks like a decent feature to gain some additional FPS if needed.

This game has that loving AMD optimised touch, I'm quite impressed with how it performs.

it's not min, it's the average fps for 4k, 1440p and 1080p respectively

so essentialy, 3070 hard drops to 40 fps average from 80s due to vram

min fps is around 10-15 in my tests. it's really horrible to play overall, since it constantly swaps data with ram

eol tbh
