Aqua D5 Next pump - Am I dumb?

I bought an aqua D5 Next pump. It came with 3x m3 and 4x m4 screws. I want to attach the pump to a mount at the bottom of the pump using the 3 holes in the bottom of the pump. But the 3 screws included are too small! They just slide in and out. The other 4 set of screws are too thick.

Maybe I am misunderstanding something but how is it possible that they supply 3 screws that don’t fit?

Has anyone had the same issu?

Looking at a photo
The 3 screws have nuts?
Possibly the bottom of the pump unit
Comes off?
And gets attatched to the mount
With nuts and screws
Then the top goes back onto that?

Was worth a try
Never actually seen one
So was all I could think of
Does yours have 3 nuts with the screws?
Just to make sure i was actually
Looking at the correct item?
Those 3 nuts are what lead me to think
It didn't just screw into the holes

yes the 3 x m3 screws and the 4 x m4 screws which must be for the mount all have washers and bolts. I've emailed aqua support but they have a 2 week wait so...

Yeah having nuts and washers
Kind of hints those holes aren't threaded
Is the bit says turn off power
Before connecting the pump
Removable?

I just saw this pic which confirms they dont screw in, so you must both be right:

I pulled out the weird rubber thing that refracts rbg and the bottom panel just comes off like its nothing. Very strange and they make no mention of it in the manual. Its literally just held in place with a rubber thing that you can easily pull out! Oh well mystery solved, thanks.

Certainly not making it easy
Are they?
But you're closer than at the start
Just have to look at what's in front of
You now
And try to think logically how it could work

Can the screws go from the other side?
Some sort of recess for the screw heads
To allow them to drop further in?
My guess would be
Screws from inside to out
And washers and nuts on outside

I think they've sent me the wrong screws or i've got this pack of screws from something else thinking it from that. I bought all this stuff back in November 2020 when I though gpus and cpus and psus were a thing you could actually buy :) Although I did get a 5900x last week yay! Anyway I just bought the screws I need off ebay. Cheers.

Fingers crossed you're sorted then :):)

Aquacomputer are terrible with manuals and instructions. I have a D5 Next and can confirm the mounts and screws it comes with seem to be a total random selection of bits and bobs. I have just ordered 2 mounting brackets for it, but I don’t hold much hope of them coming with instructions either. I watched a video on YouTube to see if I could learn, but the guy who opened his ultitube to fit to his D5 Next just looked as utterly confused as I did and in the end I learned only one thing: aquacomputer manuals are utterly useless!!!!

This is kind of hard to explain, the 3 screws are for the very thin plastic plate at bottom that sits on the metal mount / bracket, the only thing that holds the pump to all of this is the bigger white rubber piece, so fit that to the thin black plastic piece first and then screw it too the metal bracket, you will see how it then clamps the white rubber piece in place, the pump and unit with the screen then pushes into the upper part of that white rubber mount, doesnt look like its going to hold, but it does, just about, I think its a noise dampening thing.

Thanks
Yeah thats about what I
Was trying to explain in my guesses
I wonder if he has the right screws then
But you need to compress
The white rubber part in order for the
Screws to reach?

EDIT, ive just seen his picture, he's got the plastic part the wrong way up, ive flipped the picture the other way around so its kind of the right way up and hes using the wrong screws, use the 3 x M3 screws with the washers and nuts to screw to the metal bracket, hes already got the screen section connected to the top of the rubber, it doesnt screw on in any way, it just sits there as he has it now.

So what needs to happen is he needs to flip the black plastic part up the other way around, remove the screen from the white rubber piece and attach the white rubber to the black plastic plate, he should be able to see the tabs on it and where they clip to the small black plastic base, once that is done, screw the black plastic base to the metal mounting bracket using the 3 thin M3 screws, nuts and washers, they go down fron the top of the thin black plastic plate, through the metal bracket and the nuts and washers go on the underside of the metal mounting bracket, once they are tightened up, it will clamp the white rubber into place. Now install in the case and now sit the screen and pump on top of the rubber how he has it now.

This is the best way I can explain it, its kind of hard to explain without taking mine apart and making a video of it, shame I didnt see this post earlier as id only just stripped my cooling, cleaned and refilled.

Thanks for all that guys. Bizarrely I had the wrong bag of screws, they must have been the screws from the additional aqua mount I bought and they were literally not long enough. I ordered new screws but also found the screws that were originally supplied which work fine! So to answer the original question I'm dumb

! But to be fair I bought all this stuff 7 months ago and only now just putting it together.

Its just a bit weird of how the bottom is only secured by a "pull off-able" bit of rubber.

That's what decouples (or rather, isolates) the pump and stops the vibration from transmitting into the rest of the case, resulting in awful reverb noise.

Well fair enough I suppose. I shouldn't really be taking my pc on any rollercoasters or anything, so shouldn't be an issue.

But its fcked again now:

I never was able to use the supplied mount because it is going to be placed vertically on horizontal fans so I had to buy 2 additional mounting pieces: the vertical 120mm mount and something similar to the supplied mount that had the holes to fit the vertical mount and also a cutaway for the usb power/rgbpx. So I guess my only option now is to take it to a hardware shop and ask them to cut off the back.
