*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Crazy to think that people could be waiting over a year for a preorder to be fulfilled. I never would have imagined it...
I know its crazy. There have been no substantial deliveries since CNY. Maybe the bulk orders for their silicon completed and now they are getting by on offcuts.
Current forecast at 3 cancellations a week is delivery in 2024.

I'm really starting to think that with all the talk of new LHR cards & new SKU's, anyone on a preorder is about to get
Royally *bleeping bleeped up the bleeper*

My Friend just cancelled his order and bought a pre built with a 3070+ i9-10850k for £1800 AND it’s a MSI SUPRIM one too. Think he was in the queue for asus tuf or strix (3080).

Funny thing is though his monitor is only 1080p 60hz, but he got a good deal I think. His previous GPU was a GTX 1050 Ti

Well folks, I gave in and went for a 6800XT when it was in stock, arriving tomorrow. Good luck to those bellow me in the 3080 tuf non-OC queue. I was in position 761 with a prediction of receiving my card this time next year. Can’t wait to get the new rig sorted tomorrow. Have a good one and thanks for all the hard work the staff at OCUK are putting in despite the terrible situation.

I got the MSI Trio X Gaming 6800XT. It was the only one I could find available and I was happy enough with price/spec given I’m getting it within a few days.
good one, i i've thought about doing the same but costs prohibit me at the moment but would love a 6800xt red devil! anyway have fun and hope you enjoy it:p

"if ever" is becoming a possibility which is looming large :(
My ideal outcome at this time is that the card manufacturers create like-for-like models but with LHR appended. Then we get offered an option to switch to those.
Of course, the manufacturers now know, by backorder numbers etc., which cards are going to be more profitable so it's likely they will concentrate on those models and not even make a LHR version of the others.

That is the decent thing to do, it remains to be seen whether it will be. After our loyal 8 month wait. I would really hope so.:D

Loyal to the store but that hardly affects manufacturer in any way, as likely all of them will just cancel it and release new models with much higher prices. As is now, delivering it to people that bought it so cheap (in comparison to current prices) would be considered a loss for no real gain for them. As what will you do, go to competition? What competition if all of them will do it?

That is the decent thing to do,
difficult thing to do.
New part codes mean having to edit orders, which for us is a manual process. To maintain queue positions means editing them one at a time and to do that for a few thousand back orders is well over a hundred man hours of work.
Then you have the issue that not everybody in said queues wants an LHR card, which means having to have a conversation with each customer. 'well over a hundred man hours' turns into nearly a thousand man hours. :(

as I've asked a couple of times already

Polite note to the wider membership - please don't speculate, please don't start with a barrage of suggestions. It's not going to impact our decision because our decision will be based on what's technically and financially possible for us to do.

I understand, but still wouldn't take a long as we all have waited, I know there is going to be major disappointment, but what more can I say. ;)
