because you get banned for trying to sell something at a profit. Unless he paid £1000 or more for his 3070 in the first place which is unlikely

No but MM has always been set up that sellers are not allowed to make a profit. Its meant to be a friendly place where people sell their old stuff not for scalpers.
Its always been like that. If you dont like it then there are plenty of other outlets to sell your overpriced cards on.

Plenty were sold at cost on MM. I got one, and another dude somehow managed to keep ordering them and got like 12 or more for people at cost.
But that was a few months ago and prices are somehow even more mad. I'd sell mine on MM for what I paid, but I can't blame people for moving them on eBay for double the price.
