Looking for 1080Ti performane @ £250

I thought I was being fair when I sold my 1080 for £300. Better card for less isn't going to happen.
Triple your budget and I could find you a 2080ti.

I sold mine for £250 as I thought that was the true value of the card back in Jan. I didn't really consider the extraordinary circumstances we are in.

Still it only cost £450 3 years ago so 50% back isn't bad.

I paid 520 for mine and had plenty of use out of it. After postage and fees I got about the same as I could have got on the highstreet but I got to talk to the guy who bought it. I was happy, he was happy. Wasn't much happy about at the time.

Frankly your living in cloud cookoo land if you think you'll get one for £250.

He is living in Autumn 2020 maybe, didnt we see 1080ti drop to about this price back then. Its crypto which is an alien factor in this process. My vega 64 would have been near 4 years old so I figured having had so much use I'd be happy to pass it on, I dont know which is supposed to be more popular but I got 330 for that. You could take the vega 56 and try to get that as cheap as possible, with some clever overclocking I think its at least in the region of what you want.
My take on crypto is it will mirror the highs with some lows now, why? because bonkers speculation overheats and it often washes out and I've seen it a hundred times in many asset types. I dont know it'll happen now but its possible cards do similar in reaction some time this year especially if at the same time supply does increase properly.
That is part of why these silly prices are destructive to real demand, if people overpaid they wont get it back its a sea-saw effect thats unstable to markets

Latest DF video he was saying a RX 580 is a good card for the price even now.
I picked up one for around 120 last year before the mad panic.
It was 100% worth that then, does most things 1080p/1440p just fine.
now they are going for £400ish 2nd hand.
really, if you have a card just wait it out.

It is crazy how much older cards go for now, I wonder how many people have 1080ti's sat in a loft from old builds :D
Not a 1080ti but I pulled a RX480 out of my son's PC that had previously been sat on a shelf for about about two years and sold that for £318 a week or so back. Bonkers really, I paid £146 for it brand new in January 2017.

I was worried the 7950 (bought in 2012 and again has been sat on a shelf for for years) I put in to replace it would be horrendously slow but it's actually not that bad in the games my son plays.

I let a 1080 which I used for streaming games to TV go for £300 recently when my friends 980 died. Still using a 1080ti myself.
