Fastest Route from UK To Germany?

Just read back through this thread, some great information posted. Now that restrictions are relaxing this trip can take place in the not to distant future. Currently planning on a ferry from Hull to Rotterdam, and then drive over to Duisburg and locate a suitable stretch. Harwich to the Hook of Holland is also an option. I will likely stay a few days, plus it will give me time to recon any runs.
Currently sorting out who's coming with me on my side, then got to run some checks on the car, then I should be ready. Car is running MPS4S Tyres now, so comfortable with it hitting the 190 range.
In my first post I said AutoTopNL use the A73, but I meant A3. The A73 is in the Netherlands.

Be wary of speed limits. The Polizei will fine you if you’re caught. Roadworks often have radar as well.

Absolutely double check the speed rating of your tyres! You’ll be wanting something marked as J or (Y). Standard Y rating is only good for 186MPH. https://www.theaa.com/driving-advice/safety/tyre-speed-rating

There can be quite bad traffic on the Autobahns but equally I've sustained around the 155mph mark for around an hour (until I was held up by a GLC 63 or something doing a mere 140mph...). I'd have to check but I think that was on the A3 from Cologne down toward Frankfurt.

155 is relatively easy to sustain but 190mph is a different thing entirely. Mine will do 190mph+ with the M Driver's Pack (soft limiter removed) but I'm not completely sure I want to actually do that on the road with other people around, even as a short burst.

This reads like a bad accident waiting to happen.

Ideally you’d want to do this on a stretch of 3-lane autobahn in the middle of the night as it’s deserted.

You might come across some wide loads but 3 lanes means you can pass with ease.

i hope not im thinking if it goes ahead more like can you crowd fund my fine, or anyone know how to get my car recovered from the continent as engine has dropped its oil? andmerc warranty doesnt want to know?

Not sure why OP getting so much abuse, the roads are fine to drive on assuming you drive like a normal person. Personally I don't get the point but that is besides the point. :)

I can imagine the prep sequence:
1. Pops and bangs map enabled
2. Starlight headliner set to "light dim"
3. Rick Astley full blast on the aftermarket 'woofer
4. Plotting the next aspirational car purchasing thread

Absolutely, I sincerely hope your closer to the mark.

Maybe most normal people don’t want to drive @ 200mph on a public road?

TBH fine if he only kills himself.

On a public road it's the other innocent people who could get hurt that I'm worried about.

I once did 160mph in an old car many years ago, the idea of going this fast now on any sort of road scares the carp out of me. I haven't driven over 100mph in years. Not sure if I'm scared of the "what ifs" i.e. blowout, car pulls out in front of me etc. or getting caught by police is scaring me more. Having been banned once and having to go in front of a magistrate was bad enough, I'd never want to do it again.

I've been on 200mph+ (on a train)...yes it's fast, without the scary bit.

If you want scary, try drive down a single-track country lane at NSL during harvest season.

Reminds of when the Father of a lad I was at university with said 'yes' when I, somewhat jokingly, asked if I could borrow his Ferrari Testarossa so I could show off and pull women at a party in London. Bath to London in the small hours was so much fun. :D

Yeah prolly not a great idea trying to vmax on the Autobahn. Some of the unrestricted sections have terrible surface quality and the speed drops back to 130kph rather promptly without any real warning.

I've been 130mph on a motorbike midday and that was scary enough given that you run out of room real quick, have normal speed traffic, people changing lanes to get past heavies etc etc.
