More GPU price increases!

Just look at Windows 11 which is now not supporting CPUs officially from before 2017??

That`s normal for Windows though surely. I don't understand why people all over the internet are so shocked at this?? Windows 10 currently only officially supports Intel Core 5th gen from 2015 and newer. See the link here.

This isn`t a recent phenomenon either. Even if you check as far back as Windows XP released in 2001, you`ll find that it only officially supports CPUs from 1997 and newer. That`s 4 years of supported CPUs.

I need to upgrade my entire setup but I refuse to bend over.
So, rather than getting overpriced hardware, I will let luck decide if and when I can get a GPU from AMD's website.

Once I get that, I will shop for the rest of the system, until then I will keep playing whatever Polaris' finest can handle without any regrets.
Worst case, RDNA2 APUs are coming, given Steam Deck's performance previews they should have pretty decent 1080p performance, all I need for the next 5+ years.

Also Zarax

I am confused about current prices. Put my 2 year old Pulse Vega 56 for sale hoping to get about £350, but it sold for £560!? I still dont understand why? Why Vega 56 when you can still get brand new RX6600 for less than that?

This i dont get too, people buying 1660ti for 350 quid when thats founders rtx 3060ti money. Just wish they had more stock of founders cards.
Its the people paying the silly money causing the market to go in the direction its heading.

I noticed that the well known not-a-fence-at-all chain is giving £185 cash for a 1070 Ti, which they sell for £380. Since mine is one of the better ones, I could probably get £250 for it private sale, maybe more. I've just had a quick look and seen a 1070 Ti on Ebay for £410. Madness. It's 2.5 generations old! I paid £420 for mine new when the 1070 Ti had just been released and wasn't far off top end and I paid a sizable premium for the cooler (which is excellent and worth it IMO due to the combination of effectiveness and noise level). I'd say it's probably really worth maybe £100.

If I could actually buy a 3070 for anything vaguely sane, I probably would do so and sell the 1070 Ti for £185 for the convenience. I usually give away my graphics cards or leave them in my "why am I still keeping all this old hardware - there's a 3.5" floppy drive in here!" alcove, so paying £200 over and selling my previous card for £185 would be about the same overall price as normal from my perspective. But maybe I wouldn't because the current situation irritates me and I wouldn't like to contribute to it at all.

Now we're starting to enter the colder months then gaming will start to become popular again, and with some biiiiiiig releases due soon then people are just gonna go nuts for cards!!

Yah, there are cards to purchase just very expensive. It will be fun to see if games make a small loss in profits..
