3080 Undervolting

Been faffing on with Afterburner tonight. I tested them by running the 1080p Heaven 4 and Crytek Neon Noir 1440p Benchmarks as per their respective OCUK thread rules. Results:

Stock - Heaven: 5327 / NN: 11858
918mv / 1905 MHz - Heaven: 5468 / NN: 12050
906mV / 1905 MHz - Heaven: 5460 / NN: 12150

I also tried at 887mV / 1905MHz, 893mV / 1905MHz and 900mV / 1905MHz and they each crashed in Heaven. The latter ran the course in Neon Noir but only scored 11386 so that doesn't look good.
I think I have found my voltage limit. I have saved the profile in afterburner and I will try playing Satisfactory at 906mV/1905MHz.

Yet to try heaven. I've looped port royale with 1905 @ 900.

Boosted to 1890/1905 and passed 99.6% after 20 loops, which must be almost 35mins run time.

Amazed how much better overall the card runs undervolted , higher scores , higher sustained clock , lower temps , lower power

Have been running with 1905@ 893mv for around week not come across any issues it's mostly boosting to 1920mhz

At stock on the stressful benchmarks clock would drop in the low 1800mhz and even hit 17xx range , some games at stock did see it boost to 1950mhz but end up giving lower scores then undervolt because it doesn't sustain the clocks

Do you still see stocks drop in quake 2 rtx?

Yeah at stock would drop Into 1700 range and even hit 16xx clock . I did search on YouTube and found someone else getting the same with the FE with quake using the same settings so I guess it's normal

Hahah. My mistake. Sorry I meant CLOCKs. Once you set the undervolt, do you still see clocks drop in quake?

I do. Only application that does. Control and other games seem fine and stay at 1890/1905

yeah still stays in the 1700 range odd occasion hits 1800

Awesome, really appreciate you running this for my context.

Yeh looks like I am leaving some performance on the table but yeh I don't think it's something I need to address at the moment - I can live with a 10% bottleneck.

Looks like I'm set for a couple of years :)
Was playing some games on my 4K TV last night and it all just looked and ran great.

3080 Ti is a great card to have and maybe I'll finally dive back into Cyberpunk 2077, RT enabled.

Your port royal score is far closer so on non cpu limited games it isn't holding you back at all

Is Port Royal a good Benchmark to try out? I found Heaven 4 at 1080p to be much more sensitive than Neon Noir at 1440p, strangely enough.

Would like to try something that will tell me if my card is at the best settings.

Also - is there a way to make Afterburner run a profile automatically on startup? At the moment I am manually selecting the profile every time I boot the PC.

It's on the main screen it's titled start up you just click it

Port royal is a gpu based benchmark with the cpu having very little impact on the score. Time spy is a full system benchmark.

So I use port royal benchmark to see how I fare against other people using the same GPU. Although I do have one of the best gaming CPU and ram set up so I score highly in both.

People who have older gen systems should be using port royal to see if there GPU is any good or not.

I've got a 5600x @ 4.65gjz iirc plus 32gb of dual rank 3600mhz ram with CL16 so pretty good timings not cl14 good but better than CL18

finally had time to test my 3080 on air.

CBA bleeding my loop but now someone has bought my 6800xt, gave me a kick up the bum to actually replace it.

Off the bat with 5 loops of Heaven

1908@850 crashes
5462_1908@860
5470_1908@865
5489_1908@875
5480_1908@880 - stable so that is my default
5415_1908@885 - odd score drops but stable

Hey guys I have a 3080ti gaming oc from gigabyte underwater at 1800mhz with undervolt of 800 temps are in the 40s after hours of gaming but i wanted to know or these good clocks for this gpu what do people run these cards at?

1900 @887 was the sweet spot from the video which lines up pretty much exactly with your tests.

Watch the video in the OP. And read my posts. 1900 @ 887mv is best for performance and temps. Given you are water cooling you could probably use his recommended settings for 1950 or 2000.

I guess the sweet spot of 1900/887 applies to all 3080/3090 series cards regardless of flavour (Ti,AIB,FE etc)
