More GPU price increases!

"The Sun" is the most read newspaper/tabloid in Britain, that really says everything one needs to know about the average British person capacity of critical thinking.

Now I'm not British at all but what I find hilarious, In a macabre way, Is British people keep voting in the same people over and over again and then wondering why it's getting worse year over year for the majority of people, What's that old saying ? "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome".

Love it! :cry::cool:

AMD don't sell direct to UK because of Brexit
That's nonsense. AMD don't sell direct due to changes in how the duty is handled and paid because the EU got tired of Chinese distributors marking up expensive goods as value to reduce the burden of customs fees. AMD just hasn't updated their systems to manage the change.

But AMD still sells on the EU, directly or not Brexit is the reason they are not selling on the UK.

I guess brexit doesn't effect Nvidia then?

The fact of the matter is AMD doesn't value the uk market while Nvidia does.

The fact that AMD used to sell to the UK before Brexit says everything, they simply didn't bothered probably because any GPU is selling like hotcakes so why not sell it somewhere else with less hassle? I wouldn't be surprised if they start selling to the UK again whenever GPU sales slow down. If anything Nvidia deserves praise for going the extra mile, it's still very possible to get GPUs for MSRP from them (even if hard it's extremely doable with discord alerts)

So would you say there is a Subspecies of Humans with a very low IQ.

You don't need a low IQ to be stupid. You just need to do or say stupid things.

Stupid is when consumers turn a company into a monopoly by choosing the same brand every single time. Then moans when prices rocket or stagnation occurs due to a lack of competition.

For the last few generations when AMD weren't that competitive, over and over again you heard the moans which once you probed a bit basically boiled down to:

I wish AMD could compete - so that I can buy Nvidia cards cheaper.

Not that AMD aren't happy to maximise their profits now that they have a competitive product.

(Well, except in the case of consoles where they seem to be happy to maximise their shipped volumes at far lower margins than just about anything thing which they could use those wafers for.)

I love Nvidia. But I will just say this to look like I make informed decisions about dGPU purchasing. If only AMD could compete (so that I can buy Nvidia cards cheaper is my real reason).

Yes remember these posts well. Fixed for IMO.

AMD doesnt sell to the uk, its handled by digital river. Be thankful you dont have to deal with that **** show of a company

If I was after a card, I would like there to be someone offering some UK stock. There definitely should have been an outlet offering reference other than AMD but it is what it is. Sadly the prices of AMD were poor from the AIB when it came to the top end of the stack (6900XT/6800XT/6800) that it drove consumers onto nvidia IMO.

Can't compete with a 3080 for 650 or a 3060TI for 360

Well they can. If you check the AMD uk/ire site the 6800XT is 569 and the 6700XT is 420. If this was regularly trickling in stock at a UK retailer then Im sure many a gamer would happily snap up them cards..

No they can't because they don't ship to the UK making any numbers from AMD pointless. Nvidia you can pop up discord alerts and get one within a couple months/tries if you try really hard/get lucky

Well voting in public school boy eton scumbags who have never known even a single days hardship due to all being born multi millionaires that can just about wipe their own backsides is obviously not working.

Yes, I would agree. A sub species that responds well to stupidity and lacks the IQ to understand the truth. It has always been like this since the early days of the monarchy. What worries me is that we owe £trillions to the IMF and have exceeded our credit card allowance.

I reckon AMDs lack of refernce cards at msrp is a directly because of BREXIT. I really like AMD but tbh, I would want the best performing card anyway so would have looked at the 6900XT.

Be fair, he did say IF stock was coming in. I'd agree, if it was a choice between a 3080 at 650 or an RX6800XT at 569,and IF both were available, for my money I'd be all over the RX6800XT with 80 change.

Some guys dont read, or re-read another pass to take in key words in sentences! The other key words were "at a UK retailer" which is what nvidia have arrangements enabling, so he/she didn't absorb the post at all really.:rolleyes:

I said AMD can't compete against Nvidia prices from their website , he said they can and then brought up a "what if" hypothetical situation which isn't happening at all in this point in time and hasn't happened for the past year basically proving my point.
why would anyone living in the UK waste time on AMD website checking their GPU prices? They could be showing up for free that it still wouldn't make a bloody difference .

But sure, I am the one who can't read according to him.
