Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 3rd October 2021]

I've said it before, but it's games like this where we really need Bobby. I know he's flawed, but he can get his foot on the ball up top and move us up there pitch

Have to agree with Neville that pass from Ederson is outrageous. City can't be happy going in at half time 0-0.

It feels like I'm taking crazy pills when I read people posting that United ain't far away...

I know right. I'm not sure if they don't watch good football teams play but the excuses are mind boggling. We get outplayed by Burnley and all the talk is about how we are missing a world class DM. Ignore the fact that every single player in our team is better than every one of their players. Clearly missing a player. Not a coaching issue.

Jesus needs booked for that dive

What are you on about, that foul was just a slow burner. Eventually caught up with him :p

Yes, if we just had Rice in the team we'd be playing like peak Barca. Yeah, right.

Hit it into large open space (evidently too hard given Alisson could come out to it) vs the slowest man in the pitch.

They’re hitting that same pass repeatedly and it always works because Milner is so slow. It’s quite literally a foot race into open space which you can’t lose vs Milner lol

Milner has to come off at half time, this is horrific.

Sometimes Milner reminds you that before Liverpool he was a bang average player that was probably past his best and was never that good anyway.

Making him such a vital part of a great Liverpool side has to be one of Klopps greatest achievements.

Really concerned how often teams double and treble up on our right back now and how nothing's seemingly being done to sort it. Wouldn't matter if Trent was fit and playing today, he'd still be caught out as often and get little to no help. We need legs in midfield to cover him or Salah needs to drop back and help more.

I think that’s very harsh on pre Liverpool Milner. This sort of game is impossible for him though

Also shows how good Robbo is. People don't even try. Although in fairness Mane tracks more than Salah

The decision not to start Firmino is really showing. We've not been able to keep hold of the ball in their half at all - all of the front 3 are just looking to get in behind but City have sat deep and we've not been able to get into positions to thread more delicate passes in behind.

Don't think one of our players did anything good that half, in particular mane was poor again. Henderson no where to be seen, Jones don't recall doing much either.

Milner is just being over run
