Upgrade 6900XT Gigabyte Waterforce or Powercolour Liquid Devil

You mean:-

That isn't TDP, it's just what the connectors can deliver up to - 75w on the socket and 150w on each cable = 525w, so the same as every other XTXH card (i.e. like my Waterforce).

I maintain there is nothing special about the XFX card compared to any other XTXH card.
Other than the nice RGB logo, inclined to agree.

I suspect when they say 3000Mhz, they mean the max clock in Radeon Software Tuning too.

Happy to be proved wrong though. :)

Hey guys I require your assistance. I’m hoping you can help me. I pulled the trigger and got the 6900xt I use a superflower 850w and have switched to a Asus rog strix 1000w PSU. I’m getting a red flashing LED on the gpu it self with the led indicators next to the pcie cables. The computer refuses to boot now. I’ve reset the cmos, installed brand new PSU removed the Ram and just no luck. Hoping you can help me out I’ll update again when the video has posted to YouTube. Thanks guys

Some more information about your system would be helpful.

Which GPU did you get? Did not realise there are debug lights on the GPU.

I got the gigabyte waterforce aourus WB 6900XT and according to gigabytes website it says

The metal back plate not only provides an aesthetical shape, but also enhances the structure of the graphics card to provide complete protection.

POWER INDICATORS
When experiencing any power supply abnormality, the indicator will alert gamers by flashing light.
I have the flashing lights that it shows.

My entire system is the following
AMD Ryzen 9 3900x
Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3600mhz
ASUS Crosshair Formula VIII
GIGABYTE Aourus Waterforce WB 6900XT
SSD WD850 1TB x2
Samsung 860 evo 1TB X2
Seagate barracuda 3TB
EK D5 pump
ASUS ROG Strix 1000W PSU

Just plugged in a old 1660 it boots right away no issues am i going to need a 1200w or should 1000w be enough?
Is your BIOS up to date? Very much doubt PSU has anything to do with it.

Can you try the GPU on a different system? Maybe it’s a dud.

I would contact Gigabyte support so they can help you debug the GPU LED light.
I just got into my bios via the GTX 1660 and it shows slot 1 where the 6900x gpu is installed. Has nothing it it even know it’s pushed in all the way and is connected via the pcie. Yet slot 3 where my 1660 is shows. I have contacted gigabyte support but no response for 3-7 business days I may have to contact the supplier as I have a feeling it’s a dud card.

Isn't the red flashing the leak detection feature?

If the whole block flashes then it's the leak detection system. Make sure the fittings aren't touching the gold leak detection traces on the block. I had to use standoffs on my card as the xspc fittings slightly touched the rings when screwed all the way home.

You can test by temporarily draining it and removing the block fittings, it'll be fine without water for a short while.

I saw an MSI one for £1400 brand new, is this an ok price in this climate?

No, to put it bluntly it's a ***** ridiculous price as all of them are.

The price I put was the price AMD are charging you could argue that an AIB be say 50 - 100 pound more. so still under 1K even at that.
