Had to say goodbye to the best dog you could have on Tuesday. Sleep well Hangelik.

She's been with Harper her whole life. Protected her and treated her like a daughter.

Now Nessie our other EB just doesn't know what to do with herself. Poor thing.

Very sorry for your loss @randomshenans We lost our Springer only a few months ago to cancer. It really leaves a vast vacuum in the house. She was so physically fit aswell
Mate it's devastating! The vet was like, other than this she's the most healthy EB we've seen for 9. A lot come in with many issues in their lives and she was always fine. Just took a brain tumor to take her out the poor thing. I'm sorry for your loss too. You really don't realise how much they're a part of your everyday until they're gone. I suppose the same can be said for anything but pets are just family.

Thank you all for your wishes, I really appreciate them. It means a lot

One of my puppy's upper canines is hanging on by a thread, the adult tooth has already started poking out of the gum and you can see the white. Should I let it drop off by itself or give it a lending hand? All of his other teeth have fallen out and he has a mouth full of adult teeth now.

I don't know if this is good advice, but I'd leave it for the dog to sort it. You probably dont want the dog associating pain in the mouth with your hands etc.

Please tell me he/she pulls like a train when on walks?
Hahaha yes and no... He's easily distracted as expected and if he smells food / see's a empty packet then its like dragging a dead weight.
Walking through the town centre is a whole strength training workout.

Similar with dogs who he loves everyone he sees but food comes above dogs.

I have been working on focus a lot and its been reasonably successful, much better than my last lab . It works very well if I've a bag of actual meat or cheese in my pocket , normal dried dog treats arent as good, the smellier the better.

I walk him at the side , try to keep him on the left and the treats in left pocket. Keep saying look and holding a treat to my nose and showing to his nose and back, also tapping the bag of treats in a similar way.

If he pulls away, I stop and make him come back to me and make eye contact etc before moving. He's quite stubborn but also really good compared to the old boy.

Yeah we're having a go at the stop and eye contact thing with our 9 month old.

Right now it appears to be pee he's all about, he's literally like a train along pavements, head down until he finds something he wants to sniff/lick then anchors on unti he's done/we drag him away. Other dogs too set him right off and he'll half choke himself to get there although we have put him in regular day care with a dog sitter so he's getting socialised and becoming much better with that.

Jesus christ the pulling though, I live in hope that along with what we're doing age will eventually make him a pleasure as at some points he's actually a bit dangerous for the other half particularly. He could have her over or in the road so easily.

Hehe, sounds familiar, my last boy was a really gentle soul, but wasnt castrated and wanted to drag or stop abruptly to sniff and pee on everything.

I dont think hes quite hit adolescence yet, so ive all that still to come )

Our 6 month old lab literally just lost her last canine - she had the adult one fully grown next to it for a couple of weeks. Almost called the vet to have it pulled, but it started bleeding during some play fighting the other day so knew it was starting to come out. Kept the rough play going and it eventually came out.

@hudson86 your pup looks exactly like our lass! I found a harness with lead clipped to the front made a big difference to pulling, I sometimes use a slip lead for short walks.

Yes he does ) , his parents are from working lines... his mum is quite long and leggy but petite at about 23kg, i think hes going to be a big boy, hes just over 21kg at not quite 6 months

Barkley (or as I often call him these days... chungus) is 9 months, 30kg and looks skinny.

I think we are heading that direction at the least.
My last lab Jet was a trim boy, small to medium ish for a lab, similar working lines, topped out at 27kg.
Although if we'd let him eat as he wanted, we'd have had a much bigger boy.
