Hi there

Am looking for a new front door, thinking modern and was looking for recommendations on what others have had fitted and are happy with.

Was looking at Solidor being a local manufacturer but reviews seem somewhat mixed, also Endurance doors but long leadtimes.

Is the kind of style / colour I am looking for, any recommendations please for suppliers / fitters in the Midlands / Northwest area?

Depends a lot on what the rest of the house looks like

Well I am looking for recommendations on companies / fitters, not whether my choosen style works or not and have other jobs been done on the house that will change the look considerably so how it looks now is not how it will look in a few months. :)

Our house is called Oak Lodge but there is very little Oak about it until it turns out all the Oak columns were covered with plastic UPC as such this is all been torn down and the Oak columns restored, hence an Oak door to match. :)

I've had two by Solidoor and absolutely spot on quality wise.

Infact the front door is almost identical to your last image above !

The fitters were spot in too, but tye fitters tend to be "allocated" by the reseller / your local supplier.

I'm in Cheshire so not a million miles from you but may be outside of their "patch"

Edit:

Not the best picture, but

And the back (stable) door (bottom left-ish)

@Gibbo ask for PAS24 or a SBD door, it’s a minimum level of security. Anti pick anti drill locks multipoint locking and you can’t boot it in.

Howdens do a stock door like that you could ask a joiner to make one exactly as you like from mill timber for the frame.

Do Solidor have these features?

Looks spot on that!
Who did you use in Cheshire if I may ask as were wedged between Biddulph and Congleton so a lot of Cheshire firms cover us. :)

Very nice that and I was looking at that door earlier on Howdens but I don’t have an account, may I ask how much just the door was please?

Door was 400
Oak for frame 300
Sacrificial door for side 90
Pas 24 winkhaus mechanism 90
5 star cylinder £60
5 star handles £40
Letter box lol £40
Cill hinges etc £50
Joiner £600

Minimum you should be asking is pas24 or secure by design.

Is that Irish oak by the way as that’s colour I’ve selected.
