Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Theres spread cost, dealing cost and taxes. Some shares have an ongoing management fee, discount to net asset value perhaps but thats reflected in the price. I used to use a ftse short etf for hedging, lost horribly and some are leveraged which is not meant to be held overnight; is this how 20% happened what was the time frame.

If ARM lists on UK stock exchange I will be buying ARM shares.
Yep well we'd all buy them via ftse funds and pension funds. Its good for Uk in general if they stay in this locale.
I remember looking at them at 200p and guess I wasnt awake that day. Delisted 2016 for $32bn

HOC dropped upto 50% , 161m profit last 9 months valued 400m with 60m net cash. But the Peru gov says mining bad so must end in next few months, surprising when they are funded in large part by massive copper and in this case silver mining which they regulate. Populist politics

Releasing the oil reserves is probably ironically bullish, like gold will perform best while rates are rising Ive read a few times. Fed isnt anywhere close to stopping its constant dilution of dollar, so it'll be a while to test that theory. Almost all mining has oil largely in its costs, Ive no reason to doubt it.

I agree that is likely bullish. strange dollar rising, challenging july 2020 pricing, if that becomes the low pricing I guess markets sell

France is one of those annoying places trying to use apps for trading, but I've got myself onto T212 - Just waiting on the approval of account and documentation at the moment.

I like things in app form :D so trying to have everything like that. What are people's experiences of T212 like?

I quite like it, although don't use the app much.

I know there was a point where they stopped accepting new customers and some people had a long wait due to a backlog, but not sure if that's cleared up now.

Dollar is gaining strength against sterling.

Anyone in UK already holding US stocks this benefits, but of course more expensive to buy US stocks due to weaker pound.

As the pound becomes weaker the reverse happens making London listed companies cheaper for foreign investors that should help our own markets.

I own Nvidia and AMD, but not Intel.

What are your thoughts on Intel?

Honestly, I think anything chip wise is fairly "safe" right now.

I think Intel will come back in time, maybe not too the old highs but they have a lot of stuff in the pipeline (for example new semiconductor plants). Of course, just my opinion and not advice of any sort :) You can see I have spread across all of them, so really just playing the field.

Americans don't care for UK stocks and the ones they do are obscure and never mentioned on here.

They are currently favouring the Japanese market

I don't think anyone cares much for UK stocks. Certainly not foreign investors unless they see a takeover opportunity, not retail investors, and increasingly less so UK institutions. Think I already posted a few links about this some pages back.

Anyone currently looking at THG?

I've shoved £500 into it following the humongous drop since the IPO and speculation that it is now ripe for the picking with potential takeover talks.

I have it in a pie along with Boohoo and Asos since they're all pretty much linked. Don't have much in it though.

If i had the inclination it looks like it'd be a half decent one to day trade as it swings around quite a bit

Anyone still in RR? Today's gotta hurt! I got out back at the 144p high as found out about their share dilution.

Can't see it ever reaching the old £12 a share.
