When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

GPU prices (from third party manufactures) will go down if AMD and Nvidia decide to produce a lot more reference model cards, maybe having some available to buy everyday.

This might never happen.

AMD in particular is very reluctant to do this.

We have to be very careful in giving companies benefit of the doubt. Remember who the Thailand floods permanently jacked up HDD prices, reduced warranties, etc or during the 2018 boom, every excuse was made to jack pricing up?

GPU prices won't go down, whilst certain aspects of the internet keep defending their favourite companies to the end for every rubbish release. This same nonsense happened during the 2018 crypto boom, when a number defended "relative" pricing(or had GPUs to sell so did well out of it),and even a few who tried to do it with Turing too(luckily most didn't play along). This is the big issue in our hobby. Instead of people having any sort of expectations, its all about relativism. So the concept of trying to find a Diamond in a pile of turds, instead of dunking on all the releases and not buying it.

This is partially what happened to Turing and Nvidia had to refresh the whole range which I suspect sold much better.

LOL. Was expecting some actual warehouse not a guys garage with few ASIC's and couple of test rigs!!

Why would GPU prices decrease?

£1K is these days acceptable as a mid to high range card, never mind enthusiast/top end cards….

Whilst many have been priced out of the market well and truly, there’s plenty it seems that are quite happy to support this ludicrous trend…

Things is with other overpriced items, sorry "luxury" items, the buyers trend to want to parade them around in real life.
Think bling watches, cars, etc.

With "luxury" video cards, do they get to parade them around in forums? Gaming video channels? Or where?

Exactly where you just mentioned. In fact there's a subreddit 5.6 million strong which revolves exactly around exactly that identity (PCMR).

Yup, narcissism is rife...
Many come from consoles and their ego inflates and they point fingers at those still on consoles etc... whilst them on consoles are enjoying themselves.
It is most seen in newcomers or intermediates to PC gaming.

You would hope anyone who has games on a PC for a decade or longer would lose this side of them and reintegrate with people, or the person would be wise enough to know that it is just a purchase...

Sadly the world is filled with immature babies like this.

While CB might have given up doing price trend news stories, 3D Center are still at it:

Not sure if averages of all cards is such a useful metric, but that's what they are doing.
They also have a % for each card:
B8aJQJK.png

-15% improvement for the 3060 since the 2nd of January. Still 188% of the MSRP though.
Lowest Mehrpreis (literary more+price) percentage are the pre-scalped cards: 6500XT (pre-scalped and got very poor reviews although AFAIK still none in German as AMD didn't sample a single German review site), and the 3080Ti. As for not being ripped of, then the 6900 XT is only 143% of it's MRSP. But then it was released at $1000.

What the chart fails to show is that at release the 6600XT was actually available for £329 at least for a few hours. That price seemed pretty poor at the time for such a small 128-bit card. However, with hindsight...

Still far cry from the real prices.
Time to send some prayers to God. :(

Hi guys

Im wondering when the Gpu's prices are going down ??

Everyone is suffering from the prices specially in kuwait ! They are selling rtx 3090 $3500 !!

24th September 2022 at 4:23 pm and 26 seconds.

Be ready.

Glad to have helped.

Has to be sooner.. For example, Q2 2022 that goes from April to June.
By the end of the year, AMD will launch the Radeon RX 7800 XT/7900 XT, and if RX 6800 XT is 1200 euros, they will probably intend to charge 2400 euros as the lowest if the current scalpers keep it up.
