Last few minutes seems to have confirmed a large explosion from the area and Ukraine claiming theyve re-taken it. Im guessing they probably blew up whatever building the Russians were pushed back to for cover.

How are Germany going to pay Russia and in what currency.

Officially its only (sadly) 57 Ukrainian deaths so far, yet we know Russia has lost a couple of planes, a number of helicopters, several tanks and lost several support platforms and units. That kind of attrition rate doesnt work well for Putin.

I hope you're right.

We already know there is plenty of dissent within Russia about this war. I know those in the army are much less likely to be dissenters of course, but still if you are invading your nextdoor neighbour and find yourself having to gun down civillians under orders, I do wonder if some of the Russian army might have some sort of doubts.

Yep. Seeing people who look like you suffering is very different to seeing brown people in the middle east who don't look like you or have a culture like yours. Hopefully they can keep getting this footage out and published.

There is sadly also a possibility they have simply taken the same approach as the Afghan army, they know the west has abandoned them, nobody is coming to help and they're going to get decimated so may as well roll over at least that way the whole country doesn't get flattened.
 
Golds the currency - what are the russians emptying the cash machines in Moscow doing - leaving it under the bed, or buying crypto that tanked.

Putin could block the mobile network used for social media if he wished - consider that its presence actually magnifies panic in civilian population.

I sincerely do not agree with that, Afghanistan suffered from a ghost army (literally did not exist) that was being exploited to fill pockets of it's commanders and there's no national pride either.
