I think the Kremlin has kept the internet on because it's an invaluable source of intel in a situation where Ukraine is getting much more detailed information from NATO than they have the capabilities for.
This is a complex war, the world is watching, Russia so far have been as toothless as the sanctions, he's gotta be holding a whole lot of stuff back so the West cannot get intel of their true combat capabilities and miltary doctrines ? Or has the whole world just overestimated their power beyond the scope of having nukes ?
In fairness to Trump, he would probably have dealt with this much better than Biden, after all he launched missile strikes on Syrian bases where Russian troops were stationed and basically told Putin "get your guys out but don't warn the Syrians or you won't be warned next time". He prob wouldn't have waited until Putin actually sent the invasion force in to start throwing sanctions at Russia (once he had shorted stocks in enough Russian companies ofc). What, just because Biden is old? So is Trump and given his high opinion of Putin would he really have applied sanctions on him and his associates? That is real weakness.
Putin spoke with Macron. Putin re justified his reasons to invade. Interesting this conversation happened. Putin having doubts?
If the Russian forces orchestrated a breach of Chernobyl containment - a dirty bomb - is that something NATO would proactively act on.
Dirty bombs just don't workIf the Russian forces orchestrated a breach of Chernobyl containment - a dirty bomb - is that something NATO would proactively act on.
Russia does not want this to go into the cities. I think he wanted to get into the government building and broadcast they have taken over and won (somewhat naive). He probably expected to be there by now. I think the resistance is more than expected. They are probably going to be switching to back up plans so I hope Ukraine are ready.Part of me does wonder if the offer to "negotiate" earlier via a Kremlin Spokesman might be genuine; obviously by negotiate I mean hand over the country to Russia; strip Ukraine of its military and execute the current government....
Why would they do that? O.o The result would be radiation spewing into Belarus and RussiaIf the Russian forces orchestrated a breach of Chernobyl containment - a dirty bomb - is that something NATO would proactively act on.
Russian tactics seem weird so far - I can understand the desire to encircle the cities rather than enter them at this stage but a lot of their movements seem to be single file armour columns along highways, entering urban areas with little infantry support aside from light recon units - something which time and time again history has shown to be a disaster.
Does all seem a little like we've been overhyping the Russia military threat for the past few decades, so far what we are hearing from the warzone doesnt seem all that impressive on their part.
Outside cities but they haven’t actually taken a city yet. Sumy and Kharkiv look like massacres for the Russian forces that tried to go in.What makes you say that? Latest news reports say that Russian forces are near to Kyiv already. They don’t seem to be facing much opposition or they’re just slicing right through it.
Well it's either that Ukraine are putting up heavy resistance which is great, or Russia hasn't even begun to ramp things up yet.Does all seem a little like we've been overhyping the Russia military threat for the past few decades, so far what we are hearing from the warzone doesnt seem all that impressive on their part.

The way Putin has justified this war I don’t think it’s going to go down well in Russia if he attacks the population.I have the sick feeling that they're about to go Grozny on major Ukrainian cities, just flat out carpet bombing the whole lot with additional missile barrages and maybe even thermobarics.
