No air superiority/limited ground intelligence/AA not well degraded so not clear what to hit and risky to try and hit it.
how they gonna pay for the gas? swift payment?
2 more il-76 got shot down tonight apparently
You never really see photos of these planes that get shot down though so who knows.

Crazy that Russia still doesn't control the skies, hasn't knocked out all the air defences and the Ukraine SRBM's are still active... their ability to get intel is shockingly bad
I saw that as well so they are up to 4 of those down now. Also it was 3 SU-30s shot down. They missed the number at the start.
I’m guessing it was a il-76 (cargo plane?) certainly looked way bigger than a fighter jet.
Some ex US general or whomever it was tweeted something about a surprise for Russia when they reach Kyiv

It is odd that they havnt learned anything from the tactics that have been televised time and time again from western conflicts. Then again... "Mother Russia knows best..."

it's estimated so far Russia has fired +-150 missiles or bombs at Kiev. The US dropped 1300 missiles and bombs on Baghdad in the space of a few hours
Putin rose off the back of the 1998 Ruble crisis, but that was because it was exposed and it was mostly Russian government's fault... We're directly causing this to happen to them (even if it is due to their belligerent government) and the only way it results in pressure is if people weren't that interested in his excuses about slaughtering their brethren.

It’s mind boggling. If they get air superiority, they can then precision bomb from high altitude using laser guided weapons. Surely they they must have these?

I'm not so sure anymore.
"strategic carrier" - it even has a glass nose for aiming drops.. used for paratroop drops and FOABs.. hence I suspect they get a lot of attention.
They most certainly have that capability, I dont know what its effectiveness is like compared to western equivalents, but they have them.

seems like Russias modern army was all fake news so far, it's like they rounded up a bunch of conscripts and pointed them towards ukraine with any old crap they could find in a barn
