Ukraine Invasion - Please do not post videos showing attacks/similar

Can't help but worry about the Ukrainian army that's been stuck wedged between the DPR/LPR and three encroaching Russian offensives trying to cut them off from the rest of Ukraine, not sure Mariupol can hold out but hopefully it can.

That anti tank equipment were sending them is really making a difference.

That’s one of the problems with having tanks which are towards the lighter end of the spectrum for a modern MBT: all the current generation of single soldier antitank weapons manufactured in the West can at least cripple/mobility kill current Russian armour.

This invasion is showing some reality to Putin and Russia. If they are struggling with Ukraine they don't stand a chance against a more advanced country, and especially if Nato forces appear.

They had someone on BBC news earlier and he was saying that Russia was expecting to have captured Kyiv in 3 - 4 days and is facing logistical issues. However he worries that Putin now needs to win this and will resort to the brutal methods used in Chechnya and Syria rather than the more gentle (for war) approach in Ukraine currently.

The video of people blocking tanks is brilliant, I really think the way for Ukraine to win this is to show the Russian people that they are not the enemy.

If they have logistical issues when attacking a country on their own borders, whilst almost completely surrounding them, and having months to prepare, that is pretty pathetic for a supposed "super power".

The link references 9 Russian tanks verified by photo evidence for example yet the Kyiv post claims 146. That’s quite a big difference.
I'll help you:

"This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here"

Johnny FD and Bald Sheltering in place in Kyiv, showing the situation on the streets, you know what surprises me? No looting, no panic buying (For the most part), no disorder. Just respectful people trying to go about business as best they can considering the situation. If that was UK/US, it would be mayhem and anarchy.
Interesting, I'd got that impression from news reports too but wasn't sure if it was actually accurate - sounds like it is though! It's been amazing to hear the resilient, determined, and patriotic attitudes of Ukrainians in some interviews. They seem to genuinely love their country. I'm sure there's some selection bias there because only people like that will have stuck around and joined in with the civil defence efforts etc, but seems like it is a common attitude.

Sad as it is, I agree that I really don't think it would be the same here, and being honest I don't feel like I personally love my country in the way that many Ukrainians seem to.

Edit: then again maybe this is a symptom of being in a crisis, with a very real threat to focus the mind - maybe people here really would pull together in a similar scenario, and if faced by an invasion maybe it would be easier to genuinely love your country in the way that it seems many Ukrainians do.

It also says it’s based on what they have photos for and that the real number is much higher. I would say even the Ukraine numbers are probably an underestimate of the reality. We won’t know until after it’s over so we are all guessing at the moment. For Russia to be in a bit of a panic over this they must be taking some big losses.
