Depends on the type of the missile launched and the starting position. If Russian variants can hit the USA in 15 mins, then the UK in less time is what the planners take into account. Suppose we have a wider range of delivery missiles from ancient to modern in Russia across its landmass, it's very unlikely today that you would be getting any more time on average to prepare and evacuate. Even old tech can hit in 35 mins. On full alert, these things are ready to go, so we are not factoring in prep and activation time with commands being passed, etc.

Messing in any way with nuclear power plants could quite easily be a bit of a game changer.
Industrial sites have protected status under the Law of Armed Conflict, since once you unleash the powerful forces that are contained within, you have lost control of the outcome and results of what that'll do. A hydroelectric power plant or even a chemical plant are one thing that the international community might not react very quickly to, because the consequences are likely to be limited to in-country or contained in the domestic area. However, the consequences of a nuclear meltdown are truly international in nature and I don't see that the international community could continue to ignore that. Maybe the momentum would gather for a military intervention...

Oh I am NOT critizing ANYONE who wants to fight, but it shouldn't be a statement from a defence minister who will neither arm them nor send them, to wish them luck!
If someone wishes to go fight, good on them. Not a defence minister statement.
 
If Putin tried to nuke the UK that would be authorisation for all western nations to nuke them back. Mutually assured destruction in action. Also this is about Putin vs Ukraine atm, Putin hasn't mentioned the UK, more a general moaning at 'the west'. Putin can't stay in a bunker forever, eventually you need to come out and rejoin some kind of civilisation.

This is about Putin wanting the world (mostly America) to take notice of him again. Using nukes isn't really an option unless you want to end everything and rebuild, that would take 2-3 generations and they would be fairly pro-peace and anti-war and anti-nukes.

Not a simple question, but to answer:
  • If they launched nuclear missiles at NATO targets in the US it would be picked up and a counterattack almost certainly launched.
  • If they launched nuclear missiles at NATO targets in Europe it would be picked up but would hit before a counterattack could be launched, in which case a response would be launched by the non-European NATO members and whatever is left of European NATO members.
  • If they launched nuclear missiles at Ukraine it would be picked up and a counterattack almost certainly not launched.
  • If they used nuclear bombs or artillery shells launched missiles against Ukraine it would not be picked up (until detonation obviously) and a counterattack almost certainly not launched.
 
No shock to me, Didnt Russia have a picture in some video or whatever showing where in the USA they would target with Nukes. All the major cities and bases ( afew years back when things were not even heated between them lol )

IIRC you only need three donations. However that's a general coverage. If you want to specifically target and erase specific locations more. Geography means blast waves get directed unevenly.

Pretty much any nuclear power station, nuclear military facility and base plus C&C centres known ahead of time. If the strategic missile sub rough location is known then one to that location.

That's how they come off the Bloomberg Terminal & Eikon terminal, I do apologize lol.
If you look at some of the sources I link, they often have everything in caps as it's just how the terminal presents the news data.
