I'm not adding anything, the statement says that if a European NATO member is hit by a first strike then what's left of that country will still be able to launch their response.

It is irrelevant if nukes hit before a counterattack can be launched.

It's not, because this whole argument started because I answered another posters question and explained to them what would happen if nukes hit a European county (I.E UK, France, etc) before a counterattack could be launched, and explained a response would still be launched, and you took exception to it.

The UK will definitely hit back. That is what the nuclear deterrent is.

Russia is getting a bit of a battering by all accounts.

Don't think they would stand any chances against a well stacked NATO force. Only thing is, if we keep letting them have practice they might end up being competent when we need to actually stand up to them. They are ironing out their issues in Syria and now Ukraine.

Liz Truss has given the green light to anyone wanting a bit of action out there, something to think about for easter....

Protesting in Russia is picking up

Hard to know whether those protests have popular support though, obviously there is a risk of arrest there. IIRC some Russian politician was dismissive of them basically saying it was just a bunch of gays etc... And do we know whether he's kinda right - is it just the usual rent a mob/crusties you'll see having a protest over relatively minor stuff in the UK or does it reflect a genuine change in public opinion in Russia?
