Yeah I feel the solution to this (something not with the world ending) probably does have to come from within.

Maybe they are blaming her and its the only thing we and putin have in common.. We all want her to STFU.

Would need to erect a cathedral at the Kremlin though!

In all seriousness, i think Russian military support disappearing is the slimmest of slimmest chances given that it would be treason and require the majority of troops/personnel to be on board.

Here's hoping that happens though before we all see a big flash on the horizon :(
 
Its not going to stop without talks, not trying to talk is worse than talking and failing.

The west doesn't want a proxy war in the Ukraine as much as Russia does.

Running through the various scenario's how to close this off though.

1 - Russia Pull back (not likely)
2 - Putin displaced I have zero idea if this is even possible and Russia say sorry and the west gets all the re-build contracts (Russia wont pay for anything)
3 - Ukraine gets cut in half, other half becomes part of NATO & the EU and the people are allowed to move freely before the line is drawn
4 - China leans on Russia and mediates better terms just for them.

5 - Not worth thinking about.

Its pretty clear that at the bottom rungs the morale isn't there; it might not take a huge push for some of the military leaders to decide Putin's time is up; there's already been reports ahead of the invasion that they were very uncomfortable with it

It does seem to be that number 3 seems like the most likely option. Akin to the Korean war.
