Sadly Russia have historically always had the mentality that if you have more troops and equipment than your enemy does then as long as they're losing % faster than you you're winning :(

While I'd like to believe it I doubt those claimed numbers by Ukraine are accurate, probably exaggerated for propaganda purposes to keep morale up as that amount of strikes would require attacks by 30+ fully armed drones and while they can rearm them and send them back out it would take quite a while. They don't have many of them and the Russians have already downed a few.

They have a really interesting history as well if you go far back enough, and were a big reason Europe defeated Napoleon. At that time they were a lot more like the rest of Europe.

Since the Soviet/communism took hold though, it's just been one bad thing to the next tbh for their people and their economy.
 
For those who don't fully understand what those 70 aircraft represent, this is their current MiG-29/Su-25 inventories:

Bulgaria (MiG-29) - 16
Bulgaria (Su-25) - 14
Poland (MiG-29) - 28
Slovakia (MiG-29) - 12

They're literally giving Ukraine all of them to defend their country, Bulgaria and Slovakia don't even have any other planes, they're currently awaiting delivery of the new F-16s they bought so they could begin phasing out their MiGs over the rest of the decade...
