More up to date as well, BBC and SKY NEWS showing footage from the first day as "latest news on Ukraine"
The problem they have is trying, really hard, only to use footage they can be absolutely sure is genuinely what it claims to be; can't afford to fall into a bear trap where Russia can accuse the West of lying. Rock and a hard place for them really.

Peeps why is the reason this war has started?

Because Putin has gone mental and somehow thinks he can restart the USSR. He also somehow thinks he is going to be able to control a country the size of Ukraine with most of the population vehemently against him.

Basically, a little old man has lost his marbles and has started believe in his own lies and propaganda.

The Nazi accusation could equally be applied to Putin - trying to restore the ussr nation - albeit hopefully Ukraine could be his Stalingrad,
where people begin to douibt his fallability, unless he has a Goebbels to try and save him.

obviously they were discussing future genocide trials against Putin a few days back - what does the geneva convention say about attacking civilians -
do they have a cell in the Hague with his name on it

Peeps why is the reason this war has started? Can anyone tell me? I have watched a video from vlad in this big sort of press conference not sure when it took place where he is saying that in the 90s it was promised that the alliance wouldn’t expand and there was 5 waves of expansion. It was not written he said. Can’t post here because it was on FB.

There is multiple websites and youtube videos explaining why this has started. Numerous reason, fuel, wheat, defence positions, fear of Western influence. Loads of good youtube videos if you don't want to delve too deep.

That’s because it’s a figment of Putins imagination, there was never any treaty or written commitment that NATO or the European Union wouldn’t expand. Putin is just butt hurt because the Soviet Union collapsed and people chose democracy and freedom!

Maybe because they only have single digit numbers of their top line aircraft fully combat operational...

forbyears we've been told Russia has these M1 killing T90s and millions of rockets, and NATO killing Jets and a million tanks and million soldiers and yada yada

But this war with Ukraine has shown the complete opposite, the Russian army is in a shocking state of affairs. These advanced next gen tanks and jets and bombs are nowhere to be seen, their troops are driving around in vans built in 1960, food that's expired, have a lack of bombs to fire and using tanks and armour from 1970

Putin, a man from the Cold War era, who’s territory went as far as Berlin in WW2, wants the good old days back.

But aren’t his actions a consequence of this expansion? But to be fair I don’t understand ask this concern because there are already these warheads in Belgium or Germany or even turkey I believe. So it is pretty close either way. Instead of taking 3min if it was in the boarders it will 6min to hit them not big difference.

My point is they don't have to export much. What do they need foreign trade for? iphones? Bananas?

Whilst in the long run, yes they do. In the short term they can survive with no great hardship and did do relatively for decades within short living memory.
Do you think many Russians are going to enjoy being cut off from the west?

Creeping capitalism meets dictator who believes he is the embodiment of 1000 years of nationalistic determination.

mostly from the EU so that’s going to be a bit of a bummer.

To some extent makes sense after watching his communication taking about history and etc. but this big press conference where I believe a lady from BBC asked two questions one about if he can guarantee he will not invade UKR and the other question was about what the west doesn’t understand about his intentions and in summary he said it has to do with the alliance expansion, having missiles at their borders and he went giving examples about what would the us do if they had warheads in Canada or Mexico, etc. he looked really sharp on that press conference speaking very clearly.
