I wonder if Xi has enough sway with Putin to get him to back off. That could be a tricky one to negotiate...
Xi does not care, this is not his problem and does not affect him. He has nothing to gain by getting involved.
At the start sure but I think minds have changed as this has gone on.
Most are still opposed.
The AP-NORC poll shows 52 percent of Americans approve of a minor role in Ukraine, while 26 percent are supportive of a major role, and 20 percent do not approve of any U.S. role in the Eastern European nation.
The results are similar between both Democrats and Republicans, with more than half of voters on each side of the political aisle approving of a minor role in Ukraine.
We won the Cold War by keeping it cold, that's exactly what we do here, we win long term economically.
We won the Cold War by fighting proxy wars that weakened Russia and reduced her spheres of influence, baiting her into an arms race that she could neither win nor afford, forging strong alliances, and expanding our economies at a pace she could not match.
I am not suggesting we should enter the war in Ukraine directly, but as a proxy war it has potential to benefit us by weakening Russia. So let's treat it as another Cold War situation.
