Guess they must be worried that since they're drones there is a possible implication of US involvement, Russia doesn't seem too irritated with Turkey over it's Bayraktars and they're NATO members so unclear on the nuance there.

It surprising that someone hasn't made something similar. 150Kg is useful - Brimstone weighs 50Kg per missile, but typically our brimstone is fired salvos hence needs a bigger drone or a drone+plane. Also if you look at the size of the munitions it drops: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAM_(Smart_Micro_Munition) it's 6-22Kg, or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTAS 37Kg. I suspect the lack of air dominance means the drone munitions can be dropped closer in. 8-14km laser guide in vs the Brimstones 12-80km fire and forget (or bigger pave way).

Actually thinking about it - I suspect the "hightened" nuclear level that the Russians elevated to is actually the enablement of the dead hand. I remember reading something that said it enabled at a hightened level of nuclear readiness. So I think currently their ICBMs are sat on an automated trigger as protection for Putin, his family and friends.

Not really is it? Russian politics has been known to be notoriously corrupt with many citizens not voting for Putin.

That's like saying if the Tories got us in a war that everyone who didn't vote for them somehow deserved this by proxy? Also , if the war wasn't on the manifesto why should the people who did vote them in be punished also?

Citizens being ruined for the actions of a few super wealthy is never a good thing.

Are these the most effective places to donate?
 
I hope the Western news has some ex-Russian soldiers lined up to discuss what's happened anonymously with the reward being a significant financial settlement.
