In total, 1502 military infrastructure facilities of Ukraine were disabled during the operation

Among them: 51 command posts and communication centers of the Ukrainian armed forces, 38 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa anti-aircraft missile systems, 51 radar stations, 472 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 62 multiple launch rocket systems , 206 field artillery pieces and mortars, 336 units of special military vehicles, 46 unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Not sure I'd agree with that assessment - as long as the defenders are well prepared and willing they could hold Kyiv easily 4-6 weeks or more unless Russia commits far more to the fight. But on the other hand I don't see the war dragging out beyond maybe 2-3 years - once (if) the major urban areas are taken and larger organised military groups dispersed or defeated it will likely die down very quickly - much of those West leaning will then start to move out the country IMO with only a limited insurgency.

EDIT: The other option is they never fully take Kyiv and it turns into a protracted conflict zone without huge taking of territory by either side.

Putin wouldn't last that long in either case and whoever took over would have to have a far softer stance than him so would likley see a withdrawal as soon as Putin out the picture.

Unless you know someone in Ukraine and bordering countries you can wire direct to why not go with a large charity? These are the obvious examples.

Not really is it? Russian politics has been known to be notoriously corrupt with many citizens not voting for Putin.

That's like saying if the Tories got us in a war that everyone who didn't vote for them somehow deserved this by proxy? Also , if the war wasn't on the manifesto why should the people who did vote them in be punished also?

Citizens being ruined for the actions of a few super wealthy is never a good thing.

Well of course not, but the West has scarcely any options that don't impact on the populace and honestly the extremity of it was probably the only way to get the rest of Europe out of their Kremlin-blind cages.

I certainly don't blame the Russian public for the invasion or any previous belligerence, but the fact remains that their apathy has created the foundation for such actions. Similarly in our own nation, whilst I could hardly have done anything about the Iraq war there's plenty of people who could have pressured the government into a different path, but they didn't and now a shadow has been cast that barely anyone can admit defending.

Agreed, Ukraine is getting lots of free weapons and money for weapons already, if you want to donate donut to charity helping civilians

Well my assumption was that it is meant to directly support the UAF/volunteer families, but I guess there is chance of it being corruptly misappropriated elsewhere. It's a balance of trust that they'd not do that considering the mavity of the situation.
