Guess you didn't see the images of the old couple shot up in their car, or the footage of the guy recording his & his families + dogs deaths on the road somewhere presumably trying to escape, or the footage of the guys in a van trying to get around a lorry the Russians had placed in the middle of the road to obstruct it and started shooting at them when they tried to drive around it, or the footage of people going about their business but getting in the way of the rockets. I get what you're trying to say but even in the first few days some of what I've just mentioned happened and it's only getting worse and will continue to get worse in the coming weeks & months.
Their patience for the people is apparently wearing thin
They used a lot of artillery in Kharkiv videos been up last few days.
While there has sadly been civilian deaths, it’s not like Russia are sending round death squads to eliminate everyone. They’re letting ordinary Ukrainians come and go as they please and in some cases, giving warnings as to where they’re targeting in order to minimise casualties.
I’m not trying to make out the Russians as angels, but they’re not like Isis or the Taliban.
Bloody hell Iv'e heard it all now. While there has sadly been civilian deaths, it’s not like Russia are sending round death squads to eliminate everyone. They are going to win eventually the Ukrainians are just putting off the inevitable as for being a super power no they are a great power and will never be recognised as a super power again they don't have the economic might. The video I posted earlier really explains what they are trying to achieve. They just want NATO not expand any more and for Russia be recognised as a super power once again. Ukraine was too strategic for them to lose to the west. I could see Ukraine divided with a new west side of Ukraine that is managed from Lviv. This side would joint NAM and would always stay neutral. The rest of Ukraine would be part of Russia. That is of this conflict keeps going. Ukraine may be able to get themselves to a position where they commit to never join EU or NATO, join NAM instead and have an election that would out a more Russia favouring government there. It was also interesting the video explained why China is a more important focus and Russia would be useful for the West in future.
Your initial concern is going to be surviving the blast of the bomb - this is mostly down to how close to the detonation you are. If, like me, you are quite close to a primary target, you are probably not going to survive the blast - in which case you are better off trying to anticipate action and get the hell out of dodge 24 hours before it happens. This obviously doesn't work for a surprise first strike but if Putin drops a nuke on Ukraine that's a good sign to bug out.
If he nukes Ukraine and only Ukraine there isn't even any guarantee that it will spread into a wider conflict - NATO won't open fire on Russian first and Ukraine isn't a part of NATO so there would be no retaliatory strike. Having said that, I wouldn't take any chances and would get the family on the first boat out of England as it would only take a small percentage of the Russian nuclear arsenal to turn our entire country into radiated glass.
Where to go is the next question - Ireland for me probably as I have family there and hopefully their neutral status and almost negligible armed forces would give Putin other more important targets to aim for. Or Iceland. If you can get south of the equator, that's a good call too.
I'm finding it amusing after your intro to surviving a nuclear attack, that if the UK gets blown to bits your first port of call is Ireland. Who are pretty much next door to us (Dublin is less than 300 miles from London). If the UK gets taken out with a nuclear attack, you can bet Ireland will be just as badly hit / suffer the most from the after effects.

The average Russian is just like us, want to get on witheir lives.seeing in YT interviews on the street, apparently the average russian says no to the war (expected)
The biggest problems besides Dublin possibly being levelled would be the consequences of warlordism across the UK if a rump state didn't survive along with the issue of energy and food production as supply chains evaporate.
Would probably prefer the Highlands though, lots of deer and remote.
