Is this a little back-peddaling? My bolding.

BreakingUkrainian negotiators depart for Belarus, Russia claims
Russian officials say they expect Ukrainian negotiators to arrive on the Polish-Belarusian border for the next round of peace talks on Thursday morning, where a ceasefire is set to be discussed.

Moscow's chief negotiator, Vladimir Medinsky, told Russian media the Ukrainian delegation has left the capital city of Kyiv and that Russian troops are providing a security corridor for the delegates.

Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier on Wednesday that Moscow remains committed to the "demilitarisation" of Ukraine and added there should be a list of specified weapons that can never be deployed on Ukrainian territory.

But he said that Vladimir Putin's regime recognised the Ukrainian people's right to chose their own leader and that Russia accepts Volodymyr Zelensky as the legitimate president.

To lighten the mood, my wife’s brother and his wife stayed with us Tuesday night and this morning we were all discussing the Ukraine situation.
My wife said, “If Putin goes nuclear then it’s goodbye world.”
Her brother, who if he lived in a village would qualify to be their resident idiot, came out with a doozy, “Won’t bother us, we’re going to Tenerife on Friday, we’ll be okay.”
As I closed my eyes and slowly shook my head from side to side, his wife jumped to his defence, “What’s the matter Jean, he’s not wrong, Tenerife is miles from Ukraine!”
 I want to be part of your family

The United Nations General Assembly just overwhelmingly voted to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It was a ringing global denunciation by the world against Russia.
The vote was 141 nations in favor of the move and 5 nations were against it, with 35 countries abstaining.

The resolution “also demands that the Russian Federation immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all of its military forces from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.”

When Putin finally takes Ukraine and occupies it, it will drag on for a long time.

How long do we keep the crippling sanctions that will be ruining innocent Russians lives? At what point do we start realising we could be causing a poverty and humanitarian crisis in Russia?

Lets not forget they will also be affecting Ukrainians lives too as they will also be under Russia...as if things haven't been bad enough for them.

See, I find it sad that people who are that thick can afford to go on holidays yet hard working, intelligent people often can't.

What concerns me, is if Ukraine does unfortunately give up, surrender. However you want to paint it.

What happens to Putin and Russia. I know we have the sanctions in place now. But Putin instigated all this. He is the head of the spear.

Will he be punished, tried at the Hague etc

For him to be punished for war crimes would mean he'd have to be overthrown from Presidency in Russia. The only way that will happen is if there's a coup.

As blunt as it sounds, once Ukraine is no longer able to fight, the war is over. I suspect the Western countries will still press on Russia to allow Ukrainians to leave of their own free will.

Sanctions etc will continue, and i guess that'll lead to the bigger discussion of defending against further Russian aggression.

Realistically Putin will never be tried for war crimes. If there ever was a coup in Russia, he'd more than likely be executed by his own people.

@0007 please continue with the Twitter posts. I am getting all the news I need from OCUK rather than have to visit multiple sites.

Thank you for your service :)
Agreed. In a sea of nuke hysteria and Russell brand discussion I think 0007’s posts are more relevant than most of what has been put here the last few days. Keep it up :)

Seriously, 'we will bomb this area unless you surrender'.... cluster bombs in Kharkiv, bombs in civilian areas. Stop being sucked in by the noise, they are absolutely as bad.
Post the link of the cluster bombs. I’m not sure if it’s the one I’ve already seen or not.

According to BBC news. Georgia just applied for EU membership also..guess they figure "if Putin gets ****** if we join nato, we'll for the same thing pretty much. Nato but not Nato." Putin, such a moron.. all he needed to do was play nice and eventually, he'd get some of what he wanted" Now he's going to get more nato, more EU and more defence spending.. Muppet
