I hope the twitter rumours of Russia enacting marshall law and mass conscription tomorrow are not true.

That would be a rather alarming turn of events.

All these companies are pledging this and that not because they have suddenly found their hearts, but because it’s a good look and most importantly good for business.
 
Anyone think the reason the Russian convoy towards Kyiv isn't moving is because they're unsure if they're going to use nuclear weapons on Kyiv yet? Just fear they're holding back from any blast radius or something. Obviously hopefully they're all broken down but that's very sus.

More likely they've run out of petrol. I'm quite surprised they haven't been attacked yet.

Really? I hope they are true. Perhaps it would give the Russian people the swift kick up the arse they need to start thinking about storming the Kremlin and Mussolini'ing mad Vlad.

They would also be destroyed if the world sent their military into the Ukraine to fight the Russians. But we don't because Putin has is claiming not to care if he gets "destroyed". (He says he's willing to launch nukes)

We can't have it both ways. If we won't commit our own troops to help Ukraine because Putin is crazy and willing to end the world, then we can't pretend he will be deterred by....well...anything.

Likewise, if we boldly proclaim that he won't attack NATO because he is afraid of our military might, why aren't we using that might to help the Ukrainians?

Is Putin afraid of us or not?

We have also allowed some convicted prisoners to fight the enemy during national emergencies rather than remain in prison. Most recently, during the Vietnam War men convicted of lesser crimes were given a choice by the judge: go to jail or go into the military! Can you imagine what rules they would loosen up if our country was invaded and occupied by the Russian Army?
