Oh for sure, they're bringing out all the old classics but i was more talking about their "glowing in the dark" type weaponry and them remaining firmly in the silos....

Ahh right. Interesting military analyst on the news a bit ago was saying their battlefield nukes have an explosion about twice the power of that one in Beirut recently. So still absolutely massive but not comparable to strategic nukes (ICBMs) everyone is thinking of.

Just been reading up on them and it seems they are designed to be used in situations like this, where it is close to your own forces . So yea, lets hope they dont go "full tonto" with their escalate to de-escalate doctrine.

It seems Russian forces were driven out of the Ukrainian city Mykolayiv.

Oooh nice! That's in the south and on the way to Odessa!

It was the north that mostly had the farcical stuff with Russian troops/Ukrainian victories, the Russian forces seemed to be doing better in the south and there was the bad news that the first major city, Kherson, had been "captured" or at least the Ukrainian military withdrawn and some sort of truce arranged with the civilian authorities.

I hope they can hold now... Putin does seem to want to move on Odessa, Russian troops moving from Crimea and Donbas didn't seem to initially have the supply problems that those invading from Belarus had but... that might have changed now after a few more days + things like that train full of fule being blown up likely helped.

Got any sources that will open our eyes or websites we should look at?
There's a lot of history to the conflict and old Zenny is no angel. There are also EU and UN considerations, the pipeline to germany is a factor, there's a lot.

I see there is little point posting here. Apparently I'm too 'woke' for questioning things.

You were asked for sources.

In summary, you've watched a long (7-39minute) video and now feel super informed?

Pretty much a similar story to us invading Iraq and Afghanistan then. Putin is a crazy mofo but to think we are angels in this is misleading. Even Libiya was one of the richest countries in Africa and a stable nation. Now it is just a mess.

You'd have been a great one in the ww2 trenches.. "well, if there wasn't ww1"

At least three Russian commanders have been killed after they felt they had to move closer to the front lines, western officials say.

They say the Deputy Commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army was killed by sniper fire. A divisional commander and a regimental commander have also been killed.

Russian commanders have been moving further forward to get more control and more impetus behind operations which have, in some cases, badly stalled.

Those commanders are trying to impose their own personality on the battlefield but this in turn is placing them at greater risk, it is believed.

Perhaps the other commanders will get the hint and sod off back home

If Russia cant beat Ukraine conventionally what would that say about Russia? Plus would that even end the war anyway unless they use several and then what remains of Putin’s ‘prize’ - a radioactive back garden?

Does he care how he appears to outsiders or in fact, even to his own people? In his eyes, i'm sure he believes a win is a win regardless of how you get there or rather, how far you escalate to get there.

And as @Freakbro mentions, a lot of nuclear weaponry is precision and they only "need" to take control of the capital and government, so i would imagine a lot of the country could remain intact.
Problem is is if the other nuclear armed countries decide to retaliate.

Wife of Putin's former mentor and current Russian Senator bringing up the issue of Russian losses:

Part of the issue here is that conscripts aren't supposed to be deployed unless they volunteer and sign a contract, some of these conscripts were apparently forced to sign a contract or had others sign for them (this perhaps ties into the footage the other day from Russian conscript soldiers who wanted to go home and were asked to first sign papers with some backdated discharge date essentially saying they were never there).

The losses are a bit (yikes!) too - a company of 100 only 4 returned!

No you seem like an eyes wide open type who's just trying to waken others. To help with that, have you got any sources or websites we should look at?
