When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Hard to know what and when to buy a Gpu card driving me nuts only have a rtx 1050Ti but have saved a lot of cash so can buy anything, expect rtx3090 / 3080Ti / 6900XT which is overkill for my needs and a waste of money.

Your seven months away from something like a 4070. While we dont know their price it will likely be as good as a 3090 so would not pickup an ampere so late into its cycle.

But I'm running a old rig i7 6700K so PCie 3.0 slot so not sure how well the new RTX4000 series will work.

Risk worth taking IMO. If you can afford a 3090/80Ti/6900 then bagging a 4070 should leave you some change to upgrade other components.

Yes been thinking upgrade to whole new rig probably up to £3000 with a 4070/4080, that's if the 4000 series card doesn't play nice with the old rig.
But spending £800 now on a rtx3070Ti seems a lot cheaper outlay and should last me a few year's gaming at 1440P.

If you don't also upgrade your CPU then it won't matter. Nvidia GPUs need really fast CPUs to run properly else even if you buy a 3090 it will run more like a 3070 (at best) with that CPU.

Yeah seen on youtube what speed I can get running a 3070Ti and 3080 with my i7 6700K 4.6ghz OC it's fast with enough fps gaming at 1440P, will be cpu bottlenecking at times but can live with that.
Would buy a rtx3060Ti but its very bad value for money at the moment rather pay bit more to get 3070Ti.

Plenty to think about GPU card prices so stupid high doesn't help, giving it a few month's to see what happen's lol.

With electric prices going up in April I would foresee a few cards being cheaper on the second hand market! ;)

That's the 6600XT I would have bought the Strix.

If I had 1050ti I'd probably wait a bit longer to see where market goes but with HD630 it's pain to wait. Also inflated prices wouldn't pay ~£200 for +5 year of tech which is more expensive than release time and can't trust used.

Eventually got RMA for 6600XT because it won't justify my uw-1440p monitor in a year feels like waste of money

PS: Can't get an FE due to another one already got on my household.

well less doom and gloom, spotted a 3080 10gig for under £1k this morning. still waaaay over price but thats the first time iv seen a sub £1k card since launch i think.

So happy I managed to snag a 3060Ti FE when i got the chance on discord, but desperately trying to get my nephews 290 upgraded. A 3050 at £249 would have been decent enough but the bots got em.

Lucky don't have any kids they waste too much electricity / water only pay £39 per month for Gas and electric combined so not worried about it going up, water bill is tiny too lol.
It's just the GPU card price's that's winding me up make's more determined everyday to not get ripped off and wait.

GPU prices have dropped a tiny amount but BIG DEAL will take year's at this rate to get to MSRP again.

Meanwhile I've upgraded with extra SSD and doubled the Ram in my new gaming laptop.

Now that miners have stopped buying them (Ethereum still has a ways to go upwards if they're gonna start again), prices will keep going down as the people that are willing to pay the higher prices do so. This gradually leaves only the people who will pay close(r) to MSRP, meaning retailers will have to gradually lower their price to meet these people if they want to keep unloading stock at the rates they've been doing.

The next big thing for the market will be the next-gen GPUs. In 6 weeks it'll be April, and Arc's release should be close. At that point, people will either choose those or be much more willing to wait the (by then) 5 or 6 months until Lovelace and RDNA 3.

If the Ethereum merge does go ahead in June, you'll also have literally millions of, what will be then, nearly last-gen GPUs flood the market...

Interesting times. I have a feeling that anyone who does end up buying a graphics card in the first couple of months (I'm in this group) will end up regretting it.

  • Arc delays
  • Merge delayed
With you on the observation regarding wont be long till next gen is here. We have weathered 18 months already, you would have to be seriously odd to grab say a 'new' 3090Ti with only weeks to wait for a lovelace.

Bit random but when I seen the name thought of this town ain't big enough for two Bills!! @Bill Turnip

Yeah.. I know £649 is a pipe dream but I really don't want to pay more than £150 over that.

Ohh great... next gen gpus already planned for crypto miners then...Prices threw the roof next gen.. good luck everyone still wanting a gpu for gaming and normal use.

Anyways we will soon not be able to afford to power our computers with how things are going :(.

Maybe you should work with the media using scaremongering tweets!
