Sky news:
'The United Nations has confirmed that well over a million Ukrainian refugees have fled their home country since the conflict with Russia began.
These are largely women and children, as men of fighting age - those aged between 18 and 60 - have been urged to stay behind by President Zelenskyy and defend Ukraine.
The UN says this has quickly become the "biggest refugee crisis this century", predicting that as many as four million people could leave.'
Poland has already taken in over 650,000...

Kind of unreal people are defending and cool with Russian attacking nuclear power stations. Ukraine will defend its last reactors with heavier and heavier equipment because to lose power will be devastating for the population and their ability to counter Russia. You cool with the Russians going full bore there like they have in Kharkiv?

The world, not just the west, should make it very clear. Any nuclear contamination of Europe and beyond due to intentional attack of a station is an act of war. They are not to be touched.

Think Nato should really bulk up its air forces in Romania, Slovakia and Poland. Huge numbers including ground attack and Helos. Then send them up into Finland for exercises just to troll. If anything it will mean Russian air assets having to be moved that might otherwise be attacking Ukraine.

The UK has deployed the Royal Welsh BattleGroup to Estonia and is prepping to send a second full battlegroup (Estonia doesnt have a large standing army or airforce) so right now we have 2000 boots on the ground in Estonia

Well, quite, that's the reason they are going to capture them

They aren't looking to destroy them, just capture them. And I'm not sure why the capture of a power station would be an act of war when the actual invasion of the country isn't :p

.
Kinda weird that people are cool with the Ukraine fighting over nuclear reactors and putting all their Allies at risk.
Open city policy? Na.

Taken from the Skynews website just now …

West is 'behaving like bandits' - Kremlin
Western leaders are "behaving like bandits," the Kremlin said, as it stressed Russia was far too big to be isolated - as the world is more than just the US and Europe.

Dmitry Peskov claimed the West was involved in "economic banditry" against Russia - and warned that Moscow will respond.

He did not specify what this would entail, but said it would be in line with Russian interests.

"This does not mean Russia is isolated," Mr Peskov said. "The world is too big for Europe and America to isolate a country, and even more so a country as big as Russia. There are many more countries in the world."

He added that if the US imposes sanctions on Russia's energy exports, it would respond in like.

…… I’m starting to feel really pessimistic about this now and if I’m honest getting quite anxious and putting thought into how quickly we could escape the city at short notice

Amazing how quick it got hit, does the heli not have missile warning systems and I take it no ejection on these helis?

Ejection systems on helicopters are a little bit dicey - what with the rotating blades being ready to slice and dice. They can fit explosive bolts on the rotors and use rotational force to clear them from the area, they also require sufficient altitude and warning.

Yes and has anyone else noticed that the reactor buildings at this plant are designed to have aircraft deliberately crash into them and survive, and are protected against explosions and rockets.

Russians/Ukranians learnt a lot after Chernobyl.

The lack of protective structure at Chernobyl, was one of the main reasons for such a catastrophe.

Newer plants, have protective structures now, so internal explosions like Chernobyl, will not release the radioactivity.

So some small shelling of buildings hundreds of feet away will not effect them.

What was it they said about The Titanic?..... :)

I have not seen the videos you have.

So ok i was wrong on that bit, the map of the plant on the BBC showing locations of fighting, and reactors was all i was going by.

Still doesnt alter the fact a direct hit by motar or shell will hardly damage let alone destroy a reactor building.

No just someone who can research and read.

Try using more than one source in that research.

“Someone else’s war”

Your so simple aren’t you?
You can’t possibly see the larger picture with this?

We’re not suggesting to go in gung ho but we are already involved. It is “someone else’s war” that will and is affecting the whole of Europe and the world.

Geopolitics and things like this are complicated.

'Allnamestaken'. Can I suggest Mr Patronising?

Can anyone show footage of the damage and wreckage of the Nuclear power plant? Or has this been propagandised beyond its actual reality?

I heard tanks have been taking aimed shots with IR sights at the reactors... Not accidental but aimed shots...

Lots of small arms fire.

Please can we have some proper imagery preferably backed up with some expert knowledge and opinion?

Are both sides not guarding the plant now?

I guess reddit is the best source of footage?

Links anyone please?
