Also what was all that nonsense previously where some people believed that Russia had only sent their B team to "soften up" Ukraine and some badass elite units were still to come:

I believe the V marks their airborne and marine "elite" units and all. It seems they were deployed with far too light equipment for the job.

I hope Ukraine manages to keep fighting the good fight. Putin is stuffed at this point. He has no choice but to stay committed, but the moment his troops leave the populace will rise up. He’ll be bogged down there for a lifetime.

And I've just seen an interview with the deputy mayor of Mariupol where he says Russian forces are firing on civilians using safe corridors to escape that city. A city, he says, that doesn't have a single building without any war damage and many others razed to the ground.

Yeah I guess we should have known that Russia are a bunch of lying ******** and will do or say anything to get their way.

Some good news for the Ukranians.

7 medals, 3 gold , 3 silver, 1 bronze

Including a clean sweep of the podium in the mens vision impaired biathlon.

All in the first day of the winter paralympic games.

I believe the V marks their airborne and marine "elite" units and all. It seems they were deployed with far too light equipment for the job.

Well, that's how airborne units work, they're VDV, their vehicles need to be light enough to be transportable and capable of being dropped, all their units have some light armoured vehicles though some are only partly mechanized and are mostly light (airborne) infantry. They were the guys who tried the helicopter assault on day 1.

It's not so much that they were deployed with light equipment, there is a role for light infantry in general, but rather they were largely unsupported and in various instances (not just the attack on Hostomel airfield) they've ended up being cut off. Possibly one of the issues is that they're not just a corps or regiment within the Russian army but they're a separate branch of the armed forces entirely (sort of how the USMC is in the US)... Maybe the Russians aren't so great at coordinating different services/working together etc..

Here is a spoof version of one of their videos:

:D

Tom Nash is a financial analyst, investor and a YouTuber. The stock market has had a wild couple of years. Rounding that off with a full scale Russian invasion makes understanding the current global financial situation and how to not end up on the receiving end of some market and currency movements even more complex. Thankfully Tom is Russian and he's here to help. Expect to learn why Russia's economy has started struggling so quickly. just how big of a deal being taken off SWIFT is, what it's like to hear Vladimir Putin speak if you can understand Russian, Tom's advice on how not to invest your money over the coming months, whether crypto is the answer, what's happening with real estate and much more...

And there it is. Any criticism of the government is anti British and must be silenced. Kind of sounds a bit like something that is happening in another country....
In time of war the country needs to pull in behind the current government. After during the time when the current is not under threat you investigate any wrong doing.

It is too risky as there could be saboteurs looking to undermine morale and leaking classified information. It's pretty basic stuff.
